Biography of Iqbal HJ
Iqbal Hossain Jibon also was known as Iqbal HJ is originally from the small green lands of Bangladesh.
Performing and entertaining from a very young age, Iqbal HJ is now accredited as a well-known singer, song writer, producer, and director.
Iqbal HJ has joined in the genre of Islamic World Music otherwise known as Nasheeds. The core message within Iqbal's songs is that of unity, love and humanity.
Iqbal HJ began his journey in Bangladesh fifteen years ago in 2001 when he was admitted into the Nationally recognized and well respected Saimum Cultural Group. With his hard work and commitment, He was promoted to being Assistant director of the group by 2007 and by early 2009, he was the Executive Director of Saimum.
Although Iqbal HJ was very busy with the directing of Saimum, his passion for education continued. Iqbal moved to the UK later in 2009 to complete his studies for an MBA. Whilst he was in the UK, his passion for singing and performing endured. In 2009, Iqbal HJ formed Revival Cultural Group. Revival Cultural Group would perform songs and enact short dramas promoting the message of peace, love and humanity. He remained the executive director of Revival Cultural Group till 2014.
Whilst Iqbal was in the UK, he met Mohammed Mukith, founder of Hijri Group which is a platform promoting peace, love and inter faith through various projects. Iqbal HJ and Mohammed worked almost three years through the summer heat, autumn rains and winter snows to produce and arrange Iqbal HJ's first international album 'Make Me Your Friend.'
The daring and challenging task for Iqbal HJ was to bridge the gap between east and west and provide an element of songs which can be catered for the large numbers of listeners. Iqbal HJ's first song to be released was 'Labbaik Allah', a song written by his friend Mohammed from Hijri Group. The video for this song was shot on location in Saudi Arabia, London UK, USA, Northern Ireland and Bangladesh.
A song which was produced on high, daring risks when released, had taken over like a storm. Listeners from many countries, Muslim and non muslims alike had taken to this song of peace and humanity and within a matter of weeks, this video had hundreds of thousands of YouTube views.
Following the huge success from 'Labbaik Allah', Iqbal HJ and his partners released the second single with a video titled 'Hasbi Rabbi.' At this point, He had amassed a massive following on social media and his second song had reached over 2 million+ YouTube views. Both these videos have been aired on various satellite channels across the world which include the UK, USA, South Africa, Bangladesh and Malaysia.
Iqbal HJ and Hijri Group, continued to work on Iqbal's first album titled 'Make Me Your Friend.' The debut album by Iqbal HJ was released in November 2016 which consisted of 10 songs. There were 2 versions of each song within the album, vocal only and instrument accompanied. This was to cater for all within the Muslim community.
Iqbal HJ's debut album 'Make Me Your Friend', released by Arouser Records Bangladesh in Association with Hijri Group and Fundamental Records came to be one of the highest selling albums on iTunes and Amazon Music in the World Music Genre amongst Bangladeshi Artists.
