Getting much better. The redesign makes it a much more pleasant browse. Two crucial things still missing: the weather (aren't we famous for talking about it constantly in Ireland) and some way to do the crosswords in app...

Even though I pay for the app I still have to watch ads before watching videos. This even includes videos about some important breaking news stories. The app also doesn't remember that you've watched the ad, so if you want to rewatch the video a minute later you have to watch the ad again. Frequently, a notification pops up about a new article/news story, however if I click into it I am directed into the main page of the app with the article nowhere in sight. I have not had any issues with signing in, as other reviews have reported. I remain signed it on my phone and laptop. A good addition would be control over what notifications are given. I do not want to know you are starting live coverage of never single event. Would also appreciate if the developers engaged with people who make the effort to review the app. They don't, as far as I've seen.
Page keeps jumping when you scroll - it jumps beyond the headline and picture so that you don't know what you're reading about. This is annoying on otherwise good app

Am I mad or is the letters page gone from the app?
Phil Neville
Great content but the app needs improvement. You need to log out and back in after payment each month. Since the latest update the app will often freeze in online or offline mode, showing only the sub headline.

I cant read any articles, its covered in html references

I am sorry to say that I am cancelling my Irish Times app subscription - I have given it over a year so I think I have been fair. The app was never my favourite - downloading articles was slow & updating as well. Recently I updated the app as suggested by Google to version 4.3 & the text became illegible. The technical people informed me that I needed a newer version of android to what I have which is android 4.2.2. In updating there was no warning given to me that the Irish Times would not work with my version of android. It seems the Irish Times is un-interested in its long-term customers. I cannot find an older version of the app anywhere on the web. A case of bad customer relations
Very good app. BUT can you please update the app to remember my credentials. I'm continually being asked to login to read the next article which is most annoying.
I've notifications turned on but when I try to view them the app doesn't remember I'm a subscriber unless I logout & back in. if that could be improved please
Does not work properly on a tablet, HTML references all over each article, making it impossible to read, come on IT I am paying my subscription for this!
Is there a search function in the app? If so, it's impossible to find.
Articles full of html tags. No mention of 20 article limit in the description
Can't read stories like I first got the app then there was a update and now says to subscribe to read rest of story?
Given a paid subscription as a present. Had a few queries but my first message to tech dept. was ignored. My second was answered -all disapointing news. I read on an Android 8" tablet. The size of the font is very small and cannot be enlarged. The crossword is not supported and you cannot contsct the editor in-app, you must email him/her. Altogether the good content is let down by technical deficiencys that I suspect will not be addresses so as to encourahe one to subscribe to the even more expensive e-paper version. Unless some of the above are addressed, I cannot see myself renewing the subscription
No mention of the 20 article limit in description. No article summary so essentially each headline is clickbait designed to push you over limit. Many articles sourced from free services. Poor design.......
Latest update is displaying html tags on each article's page. Impossible to read.
Scrolling problems New issue in last month... page keeps jumping when trying to scroll. Really frustrating. Otherwise great app
Turn off notifications on installing! Too easy to use up the tiny limit (20 free articles weekly). I really wanted the IT Crossword and would pay for a decent separate app. Interface is all right, currently better than the ipaper version. Can't yet customise or Search or filter.
Nazi right wing supporting propaganda This is just another biased right wing fascist propaganda newspaper that pushes views and opinions from racists.
Pushes notifications about editorials and opinion pieces Should only really push notifications about breaking news but instead this app notifies a few times a day with non news items. And when it does send breaking news updates clicking on them often sends you to the front page with no sign of the news story in question. Other than that, very good for browsing articles and looks great on my phone.
Ads even when you pay for a subscription, clickbaity headlines and app keeps jumping up and down the pages. Will consider renewing my subscription when these are dealt with.
Looks great, but it's slow and push notifications sometimes annoyingly lead directly to the home page. Also it's not possible to filter sports news according to type of sport.
Subscription app Only some free articles a week, then a subscription is required. Plenty of other free news apps to use instead.
Can't get this app updated. When I update and try to open it I'm told 'Irish Times App has ceased working' last time I succeeded in reading I.T. was last Oct. Hope you can help..
Good but could be better Latest news and articles are good but it falls behind in design and usability.
A big NO I can live with ads - after all the content is great and needs to be funded. But take a look at all the permissions this app needs. I'm not trading privacy for content. Uninstalling....I'll view the content in a browser.....with ad blocking enabled until app developers learn how to write apps that respect privacy. As a comparison, I pay 3eur/month for the Guardian app.
Self-launching ads Keep getting sent to the Play store for various ads and aps without clicking on any! App is messed up today
Good content, dreadfully slow Frustratingly slow app. Using with older hardware but no problems with more content rich Guardian app for example...
Good newspaper, terrible app It was great but completely unusable now due to adverts popping up. Deleting it now.
