Love the vacuum love this app! The map of what was cleaned is super cool to see. App does it's job and works well schedule and all. Only flaw is it only syncs with Alexia. I will give more stars when it can sync with Google / Nest!

The app and the irobot wont connect and it does not follow the schdeule to work as it should. I need to remove the wifi setting everytime i need to connect to the irobot. My irobot is a 980 series. I really like the irobot but this wifi setting and connection is really pissing me off. Its really frustrating. 1.more thing, the map is also not showing.. Please please help..

The app and the vacuum both have issues. The app doesn't like to connect. You have to force close it And reopen it. It won't give you half the information cuz it tells you it's not on the same network even though it is. And as far as the vacuum goes, this $900 vacuum won't go over black squares on my rug because it thinks it's going off a cliff. Are you kidding me?

Bought 1/17. Used to work wonderfully, but since latest updates, app won't work with Roomba 980. Acts like it connects, but it does not. Contacted CS, they couldn't diagnose. Ridiculous! Not happy after paying all this $$!

I have 2 900 series rumbas and this app used to work great. Since the last update I have lost connection with both units. I have reset the units and reinstalled the app multiple times and it does not work. I go thru the set up and it goes thru to the point that the units tell you that they are connected and the Wi-Fi light turns back to white so I know it's connected to our Wi-Fi but the app will not find either unit now! Someone really screwed this up. Now both units are still stuck on the old schedules and need to be changed with no way to change it!

Pretty much worthless with the braava jet. Can't map, can barely connect because it is through bluetooth and the short range. And for the mopper you get almost NO functionality, it's pretty garabage and the braava jet will most likely get returned to Amazon. If the app worked and you could actually tell where the mop went then I think the little braava jet would be good.

Could Be one of the best purchases of my life. With a cat and dog this thing makes life easy. Highly recommended. Few bugs but with software updates I have confidence Roomba will be on it
Two weeks ago, app was fine. Last week they suddenly need access to "Identity" and "Location". This week they now need "Device ID & Call Info" and "Manage System Settings". No notable new features were introduced. What will they ask for next week, access to "Bank Accounts" and "Credit Cards"? Ridiculous.
Wow...why do you need those permissions. Very intrusive for a vacuum app. $900 already paid but how much more $ do y'all make on my information. I don't mind turning off permissions.
Paid over $1000 for this vacuum and the app simply refuses to work. Always times out. It should work 100% of the time.
Can't link account to Google home. I get an error message saying I don't have an account in the cloud and to log into the I robot home app. I've done this multiple times. I continue to get the same message. Really frustrating.
What happened to the map feature? I bought the 960 and am able to do everything but don't see the Clean Maps Report under the settings on the android app.
Horrible app. Much worse than a dedicated remote until they fix the bugs and connectivity issues.
The app has gotten better recently and I hope they keep improving it.
Works well with alexa, now only if I can get it to work with my wink home automation system.
Won't stay connected I'm at work trying to use the robot and it would lose connection

Hello Ofir, we are glad to hear that you are enjoying your Roomba and the app. We do have some updates coming down the pike that I think you will enjoy. never connect. same network. does not do what it suppose to do 😠
Pretty good except for a severe problem with the WiFi connection
Up to the latest update, the app was great and I would have easily given 5 stars. You could start your vacuum cleaner from wherever you were and see a nice map of the cleaned area. Also the instructions were great and clear. However, after the last update they suddenly ask permissions for a lot of things they did not need before. Why would they need your accounts and IDs for you just to start your vacuum cleaner? Why would they need your location? For an app which was made for remote starting your vacuum cleaner at home, this information is not needed and I do not agree on giving that private information to just anybody. It is a pity, since I cannot roll back the update, I am forced to uninstall the whole app now. Please offer an app for just starting the vacuum cleaner as before. I paid enough money for the roomba. You don't need my personal data.

Hello, Due to a change from Android’s permission model, in Android 6.0 and later we must request location permission in order to scan wi-fi and bluetooth for adding Roombas and Braava Jets. We are not recording or making use of your location. Why does a VACUUM app need access to my call information and photos? That seems difficult to justify... App companies asking for permissions they shouldn't need is getting really, really old. I paid $900 for your damn vacuum, do you really need to sell my call history and pictures too?? . So specifically what third party software did you add that needed all these permissions, and specifically what we're THEY doing with our data? Everyone says they "take privacy and security very seriously", then sell our info anyway.

iRobot is very serious about security and privacy. We want to only request permissions that we absolutely need, which can be challenging considering how Android groups permissions. Our apologies for the latest release – we added a new 3rd party component which required too many permissions. We plan to pare that back in an upcoming release. I was excited to install the new update, just to discover that version 2.1.1 doesn't display maps and it's not even letting me connect to my great Roomba. Was that a developer's mistake and they deployed the wrong branch of code? (As out should have been 2.2.2... Not 2.1.1) I am hoping they fix it soon. Will then re submit my review. Thanks
I like the robot it works great a handful of things i would like to be able to do would be an option to turn push notifications of any maintenance needed or even the bin is full Successful clean and all that. Id like to also be able to connect when not on the same network so if im not home still be able to link to the robot. If this was possible then an awesome addon would be able to control the robot and use some of the cameras for it.
Update: app still sucks. Now it says cleaning is successful even when the robot goes into a room and shuts the door behind itself. Every reviewer here wants notification when robot is stuck come on how difficult is that notification exchange server can't be that expensive
Does not work just got my IRobot 980 and it won't stay connected to this app nor does it show the care trash bin ect like when I first used before update have got machine and up date may 1 2017
The app works well but the latest permission requirements are too invasive and they don't explain exactly why they need Device ID and call access. Poor form.
App works as it should but I have to agree with others asking why the latest update needs your caller status.. There is nothing this app does that is call related. I feel like iRobot is snooping in areas they shouldn't be.
Sometime the app take very long to connect to Roomba (980) or I connect phone and Roomba to same Wi-Fi network but the app enable remote access. I want the app has Dock button and Spot button too. Thanks.
Schöner Roboter und schöne app, die beim schließen alles wieder vergisst Ich habe ein roomba 980 und ein bravajet und muss sagen wirklich Top auch bei Teppichen. Ich lasse beide täglich um 10 Uhr laufen außer Samstag um 15h und Sonntag um 13 uhr und so bleibt beim Wochenputz am sonntag nicht mehr viel zu tun und ich hatte noch nie ein roboterstaubsauger, der so zuverlässig teppiche fegen kann doch die app speichert nichts und vergisst wieder alles beim schließen
