You are dependent on this app to use the iTraq devices and it is very hard to understand and be sure you have used it correctly. If you are not paying for unlimited reporting then you need to check it after you schedule a change-update to be sure it has set the device the way you want it. Something went wrong in my device iTraq+ or my setting it and it caused the device to report back every 10 minutes. After 5 days it used up all of my allowance rending the device close to inoperable unless/until I purchase more service. The only redeeming point was that I received an e-mail warning me that I only had a month of service left. OUCH! If you're willing to pay the monthly or yearly subscription then it might not be so much of a catastrophe. They keep coming out with new and improved devices but in all the time I've had this they have not attempted to improve the user interface to make it better. They should pay more attention to the ergonomics of the app or pay someone else to get it right since they appear to only be hardware geeks. If the app was easier to use I would put the device in 'NOT USING" mode to conserve the pay-as-you-go subscription until such time as needed. Now it's DOA and makes the device useless
Experience depends Ive had the iTraq for 2 weeks. The accuracy for sure depends on cell Tower density in a given region. So in Tower mode, it can sometimes be off several hundred feet, rendering it marginally useful. In GPS mode the accuracy depends on the device being able to receive More than 2 GPS satellites. So i find that when the device has clear sky view (like your car) its very accurate, similar to any smartphone. The conundrum is when it gets neither adequate cell tower coverage nor GPS satellites. Its then not ac
This just arrived today. First impressions are positive. What's good is: - Device looks nice and robust. - Charging pad works well and actually looks pretty good on my desk. - App is easy to install and add the itraq device. - It checked in nice and easy, so I see where it is. What's not working quite so well is; - The USB cable doesn't fit snug into the charger. It works fine, but seems like it should go in further. - The app is missing the panic button setting that is in the manual. Can't find it anywhere. - The location on my android phone tells me exactly where I am correctly. However whilst the itraq device is located perfectly, the itraq app thinks I'm 250m away from where I actually am. It's obviously using GPS only rather than the actual location my phone is reporting. - Lastly, I'd love to raise the issues above but there's no easy way to find how to get support anywhere!
this download is an API file, Android phones use APK so it cannot be used on an Android. It keeps telling me the file is incompatible. I am angry with the company that made the device because it said it was Android friendly when it really isn't
I was one of the testers and my final 2 devices arrived today. This version of the App doesn't seem to have any kind of Panic mode. All the guard mode seems to do now is alert me. I want at least the option for the previous behaviour eg for it to also turn on GPS and either on demand or reports every 30 seconds. In a perfect world it would also use Bluetooth to micro locate when you get close.
