Review from Adam Ip
Excellent! And FREE! It supports all android devices that I own, including Gingerbread so I can use my old mobiles as cameras. There has been no problems besides my phones battery going flat. It's fully featured and functional app, best thing it's FREE and hope it stays that way! :D
Totally worth it. Recommended to everyone. Had issue. Was not their fault after all (play store issue). They resolved it quickly and courteously overnight. Very pleased now. Which really makes me happy because I have been recommending this app to everyone for years, including to a random lady at Costco about an hour or so before I got the paid version.
It appears after every Alfred update the video qualities go down, most likely to push you toward the pay version which is very expensive for what you get. The app says my network connection is bad even though all cameras are within line so sight of the wireless router. I do have the latest Alfred update on all of my phones.
This is an update since I bought the premium. The HD can still be HD and still not be 1080p. Some of the HD t.v.'s are 720p and some are 1080p. The video and image on this app are 480p. You can tell when a scene changes quickly there is some pixelation, also known as digital piling. It might not be noticeable when monitoring a scene and most people probably won't notice but me being a photographer, I notice different resolutions. Other than that the app is pretty good.
Overheated my Nexus 4 and caused the battery to expand and crack the case. In retrospect, running a cell phone camera 24/7 and charging it is a bad idea. Cell phones should probably not be persistent surveillance cameras period. Be careful using an app like this. It may destroy your phone. Just glad it didn't catch fire!
Fantastic. Except for ads. Would love an ad free version without a subscription though. Don't need the offline storage options, just be able to use it independently. I'd pay a decent once off fee to dump the ads. P. S. Thank you for your fast reply. I didn't notice that. I will do that. I'm loving this app! It works perfectly. I'm 1000km from home, I can view my home in very good quality.
The concept is great, but in reality, unless I'm connected to the same network with viewer and camera the quality of the network is always "bad". I'm connected to an educational network that has over 1gig internet connection, through a Ruckus WiFi infrastructure which I'm the admin of, so there's no restrictions or anything else preventing a good connection, the camera end of the connection is a virgin media 100mb cable line, and during the day there are no other devices connected to it. Pretty unusable to be honest.
We have revamped the menu design in Viewer mode to make it sleeker and easier to use. Meanwhile, we made it simpler to locate your Moments by grouping/sorting them. We also fixed some bugs and made some improvements, as we always do.
