A very good start! This is a great foundation for what many of us are looking for in a Android text editor. A lot like WriteRoom for iOS. With the addition of Dropbox sync, customizable folder location, subfolder support in the notes list, and search, this would become my text editor of choice. Ideal for my Scrivener workflow. At the moment it's not quite there. So close though. Add those features. I'd pay for them. 4 stars for the potential alone.
Good app, few problems though I love the simple layout of the app, and how simple it is to use. I use another writing app on my iPod, and the lack of formating tools left something to be desired. So, when I saw this app I just had to download it on my phone. The only problem I have is that the headers and italics still have the hashtag and the asterisk around them even after you type them. It's not really a problem, but it just looks kinda sloppy and requires extra editing later on as well.
So close, but so far.... Saves most of the screen for text, auto-formats, and (YES!) auto-continues lists. Requests only one wee permission, & though it doesn't sync it saves files in a known place so I can use Dropsync. Excellent! BUT: doesn't support asterisk lists (which normal Markdown does, & which my non-MD desktop notes program uses), the auto-list prevents nesting, it squanders its screen space by double-spacing (!!!) the text, & has little hope for improvement b/c it hasn't updated in almost 2 years. :-(
I've used this app for years and I love it so much; its clean, easy to use, and comes with a night mode that for some reason i was struggling to find in many other writing apps. My friend who also writes recently saw me using it and even asked me to share it with her. I did so immediately.
It keeps resetting what I wrote. Overall it's a good app. Yet every time I try to go back to read other documents and open other apps, what I had written is lost. There should be a 'Do you want to save?' option to avoid this, as well as a character limit warning. Several times I've gotten cut off in the middle of prose. It's frustrating.
Writer... I wrote and downloaded my first document with no trouble whatsoever.... Or so I thought. But having downloaded I suddenly had five versions of the same document showing in my Writer file list. Then on creating two new files I have been unable to download the copy, or indeed even find the files via my PC. In addition to this I can't delete the files I no longer need either via my tablet or my PC. How can I delete files and how can I get the new copy off my tablet and on to my PC?
