I live in southern California and this app for some reason won't let me look anywhere past around Bakersfield. The big fire there is what it keeps making me look at when I try to zoom in on the map or move it further south. In 4 days we have had 4 fires in riverside including the Opera fire right by my house which is why I tried to get this. Not sure if this can be fixed.
Great app to keep an eye on current fires.
Generally good, but new version missing smoke maps Some maps could use more granularity, but has lots of alternative ways to look for fire danger. However, the latest iteration takes us back to linking via browser, which is a negative in my opinion. There used to be smoke maps, but the new version has lost them. The developer is actively working on the app.
I have used this app for awhile and the information it provides is good when it updates the information. Right now it seems to be behind. It doesn't even show the fires in Sacramento that are devastating the area and putting 23,000 people out of their homes (9/15/15)! The fires were all over the news last night. So, the program is really good and easy to use but it needs to have more current updates.
Concise! I am enjoying this app immensely. One request: would you be willing to add the ability to select more than one default state? I live near lake Tahoe, and accordingly, I am concerned about fires in the Tahoe basin, which includes Nevada and California.
the map is STUCK in Kansas, even though my chosen state is California. can't see any perimeter maps which is what I really wanted from this app. no response when I emailed about this problem.
Updated data source.
