In this book concepts of general organic chemistry have been discussed. Rules for IUPAC nomenclature of Organic compounds are explained with examples.
Organic compounds have covalent bonds between the atoms. They undergo chemical reactions forming large number of products. The displacement of electrons in the organic compounds is influenced by inductive effect, mesomeric effect, Hyperconjugation and resonance. These phenomenons have been described in lucid manner.
There are different types of reagents like electrophiles, nucleophiles, free radicals which attack the organic compounds leading to the formation of products. Different types of organic reaction mechanisms have been described.
Carbon has property of catenation which leads to the formation of Isomers due to which enormous no. of organic compounds are formed. The phenomenon of isomerism is discussed briefly.
This app is a part of Bio- Chemistry, Engineering and Pharmacy Lab Pack including 9 apps dealing with chemical solutions, reaction equilibrium and kinetics, acid base neutralisation reaction, titration, and liposome and monolayer preparation.
Additionally, the app calculates titrant volume needed to achieve desired pH value and helps to choose appropriate indicator for the titration curve and equivalent points. The indicators' colour change is schematically drawn on top of titration plot for convenience.

Screen is divided by acidic (left) and basic (right) side, comprising of initial data of solutions, such as molar concentration, volume, proticity and equilibrium constants of three dissociations. User may choose if the compound is titrant or analyte (title cell) and proticity and weakness of acid and base.
Important: Titrant compound, by default, can be only monoprotic and strong electrolyte.
When molar concentration of only one initial solution is provided (acid or base side), the application will estimate pH of a single solution. On the other hand, if both solution concentrations are provided, then application will be able to draw titration plot (“Plot” option in menu), based on neutralisation chemical reaction between titrant and analyte and provide pH and titrant volume values at equivalent points, similarly to output of pH Meter device available in lab.
Furthermore, the plot of titration curve can be exported as an image or as a text data file.
Additionally, it is possible to find titrant volume needed to achieve desired pH value by setting a new value in the pH field and pressing "Calculate" button.
The preparation of the desired solutions may be further facilitated by using Chemical Solution Wizard app and deprotonation kinetics and equilibrium may be followed by using Chemical Kinetics and Chemical Equilibrium apps. On the other hand, pH values of the compounds having numerous functional groups (carboxylic and amino-derivatives, like amino acids) can be calculated and plotted by means of Isoelectric Point app.
