Review from Lisa Palladino
I like the Jawbone and have owned for about 3 years now but for the past few months the only way to update the steps is to uninstall the app and then download it again. Almost everyday. The band works fine. Very annoying bug.
Very cheap to buy. Can be worn all day and night but not in the shower or swimming. Easy to use. Measures steps taken and you can set a goal for each day. Tells you when you have reached your goal. Suggest more gold. Tells you if your sleep is not enough and suggests earlier bedtimes. Encourages you if you reach nearer to any of your goals. I like to use it to see if my sleep is deep or not. I don't know why I wake up at night so I am trying to use it to measure how deep my sleep is and when I go to bed etc. Very helpful. Also connects to MyFitness Pal and other apps.
Paid a fraction of the cost of a fit bit,and it seems to accurately log my steps. I ride a recumbent bike,so I clip the UP move to the bottom of my pant leg,or if I'm wearing shorts I do the same, and it works well. You can't go wrong with this. The only downside, which really isn't a big deal,is that it doesn't have a step counter on the face of the unit, like a fit bit,but it does show the range of where you are when you press on it. You just have to open the app on your phone to see your progress, which is no big deal.
When it works it's great. Have to re pair about once a week. Seems to happen when it's nearing the end of its charge. It is fit for purpose and gives enough data to be able to monitor fitness and sleep which are my priorities. It's great value for the price. Just wish I didn't have pair so often when it stops syncing.
I had read some of the reviews on here about losing data if you tried to resync. When I changed the battery on my mobile of course I lost the bluetooth connection with my device. instead of resyncing to connect app to my device, I uninstalled and reinstalled the app and then connected as instructed. No problems reconnecting and all data still there . I am pleased with my Up device and the app.
After an accident left me struggling to walk without a stick, I used the up to help monitor and increase my exercise. One month on I have found that it really helps to use the motivation tools - they give you realistic goals and ideas. I am increasing my step targets weekly to try and get up to 10,000 a day. Without this I would have been much unhealthier.
An amazing application. If it weren't for the problem of my UP Move not syncing with the app often enough, this rating would have been a full 5 stars. But that is the case. My UP Move just refuses to sync to the app ever so often. While the band and the app are absolutely fantastic alone, they come together to synonymously become one out of sync problem. Regardless, if you as a user are luckier than me in the respect of syncing, then, man oh man, is this the app for you. One of the best looking apps I have seen. One of the zippiest and fastest apps I have come across. And definitely the most fun to use. I almost don't miss heart rate tracking when it comes to the pure joy I get out of using this app and band. Good luck, enjoy, work hard, be fit. Live long and prosperously.
