About this game

The Plot Unfolding Machine enables you to play Role Playing Games by yourself, for storytelling and creative writing, world building, and letting your imagination go wild. Create stories on the fly using your imagination, a plot structure to guide you, and a set of random prompts (oracles) that are going to give you an infinite source of ideas.

The PUM Companion app allows you to play and track such adventures digitally. Write notes and journal your adventures, roll dice, keep track of your characters and plot nodes, advance your plot through Scene Beats, ask the oracles, and bring your storytelling adventures with you all along, all in one place!

I love this! It's a great app for guiding an otherwise aimless adventure. It takes a little getting used to but the dev is very active and the online community is very helpful and responsive. We'll worth the price if you like solo rpgs. Fwiw, this is not a video game. This is an app that facilitates solo roleplaying, which is traditionally done with pen and paper and physical dice. Check it out if you're into that sort of thing!

It's a niche hobby set solo role-playing, but if you're in it, this is the tool you need! PUMC is a great tool that helps me solo on the go-go and also at my desk and keep things neat and tidy with all the included Oracles from GUM, PUM, SUM all in one spot AND dice rolls! I barely have to leave the app except to get a phone call, text, or search something. The Android version even works on my old ASUS P027 Tablet with android 7 on it (at the time of review and for now).

what beast of an app! the option of custom random tables with formulas is great. I wish there was a way to randomly generate a set of attributes, for random npc generation. Maybe there is already and i missed it? there so much good stuff. Character and locations with the possibility of uploading pictures really help with immersion in your adventures. Dice roller 👍. I'm struggling a little with the plot structure.
