The initiative of the Municipality of Milan, which aims to improve life in the outskirts of the city, enhancing the energy, creativity and resourcefulness of the inhabitants, joins the community of the Scuola dei Quartieri. With the BellaStoria app, discover the faces and experiences of those who have already started working, the calendar of initiatives promoted by the School and a series of other opportunities available to citizens to regenerate neighborhoods.
BellaStoria is divided into three sections: "Places", "News" and "Events".
BellaStoria is a story fragmented into "points of interest" placed on a map, which shows the relationship between what has been (memories that change), what is (a neighborhood that makes school), what it would like to be (how do you I would like to).
In the "Places" section you can explore, through a georeferenced map, stories of people who, thanks to an idea, have done something positive for their neighborhood. Historic shops that have been able to reinvent themselves, new activities that have brought abandoned spaces back to life, groups that have organized themselves to improve their lives and those of others.
BellaStoria is an in-progress story of the proposals presented by the groups of citizens who have won previous editions of the School of Neighborhoods Call. In the "News" section you can follow the evolution of the BuoneIdee: from the social oven available to the community, to the newspaper created entirely on Instagram to tell about neighborhood life, from the ballroom where swing meets disability, to the space where you can learn l ancient practice of repair, a bistro to put local merchants online, up to the recording studio and rap school. What before the Call was "only" ideas on paper, after winning it are becoming - thanks to an advanced training course - concrete projects, which will be able to take advantage of a non-refundable contribution of up to € 25,000 and accompanying services for the first year of activity.
BellaStoria is also a useful tool for finding your way around the School's programs and the opportunities available to citizens. In the "Events" section you can find the updated calendar of the various useful activities to learn how to transform an idea, a need or a desire into a concrete and sustainable project by, possibly, applying for the Call: Open meetings and workshops to understand what there is is and what is missing in the neighborhood, discussing problems, understanding potential, giving birth to new ideas and new opportunities; Basic workshops for learning to design, for those who have an idea but don't know where to start; Launch event and "on call" presentations of the Call.

BellaStoria is an application created within La Scuola dei Quartieri, a project of the Municipality of Milan with the co-financing of the European Union - European Social Fund of the Operational Program Metropolitan Cities 2014-2020. Some of the contents relating to Giambellino-Lorenteggio were collected and elaborated with the collaboration of the students and students of the 2 ^ C class of the Liceo Marconi, thanks to the availability of inhabitants and operators who took the time to tell each other and together with the workshop participants of territorial narration "Do you know Giambellino-Lorenteggio?"
