About this app

In World War II a number of brave Dutchmen put everything at stake with something they do for others: they offer help and shelter to people who want to stay out of the hands of the German occupier. By offering help to more than 350,000 Jews, members of the resistance, refugees and British and American pilots persecuted by the Germans, these brave Dutchmen endanger not only their own lives but also those of their loved ones.

This is also happening in Amersfoort and this app shows on the basis of the walking route from the station to Camp Amersfoort where and how Amersfoort people along this route helped prisoners to flee and thwarted the German occupiers. The app also takes you past the locations where numerous - sometimes horrible - events took place and brings the stories back to life.
