Before beginning your visit, we would like to thank you for joining us and invite you to discover a place that preserves some of the most valuable testimonies to the religious, artistic and cultural history of El Bierzo.

The audio guide is currently available only in Spanish. However, all signage and information panels throughout the visit are available in both Spanish and English.

This situation is temporary. While we continue to expand the range of available languages, we invite you to enjoy an experience that goes beyond words: the beauty of this remarkable heritage, the emotion inspired by the masterpieces displayed in the Sacred Art Treasury Museum and the Basilica of Our Lady of La Encina, together with the spectacular views over Ponferrada and the El Bierzo region from the top of its tower, create a universal language capable of moving every visitor, regardless of their native language.

For art, faith, history and landscape speak a universal language that needs no translation to inspire and touch the heart.

This museum is the result of a collaborative project between the City Council of Ponferrada, the Diocese of Astorga and the Las Edades del Hombre Foundation. The Foundation is responsible for the museum design, exhibition installation, technical management of the museum, as well as the preventive conservation and maintenance of this exhibition space.

Throughout the visit, you will journey through more than a thousand years of history, discovering paintings, sculptures, goldsmiths' works, documents and liturgical objects that reveal the evolution of Christianity in these lands and the deep devotion to Our Lady of La Encina, Patron Saint of the El Bierzo region.
