Great app if u want Japanese content. I'm using it to learn Japanese. One thing it could improve is to be able to turn off subtitles.

Some shows are on demand, but not all. If they would make everything on demand for a week or two, that would help alot. Missing many shows I liked on TV Japan.

Ok I use a VPN to watch J-Drama all the time and the selection on JME is pretty close to what I find with it. one Problem is I wish there were more English subs on their J-Dramas because with my VPN I can watch the same show with translated closed captions there are plenty of English subtitled films on there. Update 9/2025 they got new prices still 25 bucks if you want to watch NHK live and on demand stuff. Now there is a 14.99 price just for on demand shows overall four stars now.
