I've messed around with several job posting apps, but this one takes the cake. It's a fluid UI, very simple to use, and is staffed by people who care. I made my first application and was immediately contacted by a support rep from Monster who explained how I would be contacted if I were to be, and opened a channel for communication and questions. All being said, there still is room for improvement. I should be able to filter for more than just location and salary with only 2 clicks from the job search screen. Salary, location, and whatever else is on the search refine page just is not enough to really filter through all the found jobs.

The app makes it WAY to easy to accidentally apply for a job that I am not interested in by swiping right instead of left. Yet, I cannot figure out how to reverse the mistake. I get that u r trying to replicate the dating apps out there in that regard, but I am in my early 40's and married... so, it is pretty unfamiliar territory:(

Can't launch a nationwide search. When searching for a job I don't want to have to pick certain locations and then select within 100 miles. I want to put in a skill set or key word and have it bring up everything. Then I want to filter on that list. Also want you to add a location of remote. Come on people use some common sense when you write a program.
Like many others who rated this app as 3 stars or less, the swipe feature makes it inevitable that you will apply for jobs that you did NOT want to apply to. I've yet to find a way to withdraw my application. I can see the convenience of this app being a plus for some people. I on the other hand, think that it is more trouble than it's worth. The app also put my location in another state, thousands of miles from where I live.

Worst job search app on the market. The flash card system is stupid, the search area settings are week at best. Search dose not focus on your needs it puts up random job listings that are paying to flood the app. I'm pretty sure I'm not looking to be a truck driver when my whole life I've been in property management.

As others have said, it is too easy to make a mistake by swiping right and accidentally apply to a job you don't want. There should be some kind of confirmation popup or something to make sure you really wanted to apply. Job searching is already very competitive enough without HR and hiring managers getting flooded with mistake applications to disregard. Seems to me that "automagically" appling with a swipe does more harm than good.

You can easily change the location you search for jobs in the filter. Simply click the funnel shaped icon on the top right above the job cards. Worst job search app on the market. Hi Dew. Did you try typing "Property Management" into the search bar above the job cards? A bunch of relevant results came up for me. The swipe feature is nice, however, the results are terrible. I prefer categories that I can browse, this just sends you any job posting within your area and when I put in a basic search term like "marketing" I get a few postings and most of them have nothing to do with marketing work. Who wants to waste time swiping through jobs that dont apply to them? No thanks.
I downloaded this app to see if I could get different results but it won't even let me sign up!! It keeps saying login failed please try again. Worst first impression.
I'm not sure who decided that tinder was the best format for applying for jobs, but they are horribly misguided. I want to be able to see all related jobs at a glance and organize them as I see fit
Stick to LinkedIn Jobs. With Monster, it's waaaaay too easy to accidentally apply to something. Swiping right should add the job to a "saved jobs" list not automatically apply to a position. There is no way to unapply or withdraw your application. Look forward to spam calls from sales companies when you accidentally swipe right on a garbage job listing and can't undo it.
This app is awful. It sends you jobs in your area whether you are qualified or not. Tried loading my resume and it won't let me. They need to work in their app.

Hi Sandra,
Sorry you were unable to upload your resume. Send us a support email from the settings screen in the app, explaining where you were trying to upload it from, and the problem you experienced so we can look into it. No mobile job app is very good, but this one is pretty useless. I get recommendations that are irrelevant. The desktop version, BTW, is not much better. Stick with Indeed: it's got its issues, too, but I have MUCH better control and I get a reasonably high percentage of relevant hits. It's the only one stll left on my phone.
More than a little clunky. Interface makes finding the app features a challenge. Perhaps when I become more accustomed, my rating will increase.
This app is not user friendly. Maybe its me, would love to get it working properly. I believe INDEED beats Monster any day! Sorry MONSTER need to make some improvements¡¡
Worst app ever! When you think you are searching suggested jobs you are actually applying!! Not even jobs close to my field or that I am interested in! And you cannot cancel them!
Clunky layout shows one job at a time, seems to be trying to mimic dating apps. I would prefer a list.
This app, like all job apps, is inundated with marketing schemes. These are not jobs that pay for your work. They are "subcontractors" who ONLY pay for results. They change names every time their sued and repost and start screwing over people again. If monster would just stop accepting money from them then maybe we can get rid of these ridiculous scams and actually be able to find real jobs.
Monster Worldwide, Inc. April 25, 2017
Hi there,
If you come across jobs that you feel are scams, you can report them as such from within the app. The option is on the overflow menu at the top right of the Job Details screen. Useless. Wouldn't update my resume and kept getting error when trying to reload my resume in several different formats.
Monster Worldwide, Inc. April 25, 2017
Hi Samantha,
If you continue to experience problems, shoot us feedback from the settings screen in the app. We currently support PDF, DOC, DOCX, RTF, Pages and plain text documents. Hundreds of matches and not a single one had anything to do with my career or industry. Not even close. Even with a keyword search that works in multiple other apps, Monster was wildly off the mark.
Terrible interface. This Tinder-like system caused me to accidentally apply for several positions because I was unknowingly swiping the wrong direction to quick view through positions and there is no "unapply" through the app or online. Uninstalling.
I've always used monster but not the app and with nobody's help. Tonight Jay reached out to let me know how to do a few things. When you have the app it does help but I'm giving monster 5 STARS and most importantly Jay *****. Kudos to Monster for having Jay as a team member :)
Loved Monster until the last update. The cards are frustrating. This isn't a dating app. Bring back the old list style results!
Swiping right automatically applies for a job without any prompting for verification. I accidentally applied to three jobs when trying to drag down to share... Apparently I was too far off center when dragging down, and without any indication that I was applying managed to apply for jobs I wanted to send other people. Also, there is no way to "unapply" for a job (or contact the poster to let them know if your error). I can only imagine the headaches this causes for companies. The search does not seem to be very sophisticated as tended to bring up a lot of unrelated jobs. I am also unsure that it brings up all of the listings. A generic search for engineer in a 100 mile area with no salary limits brought up very few results. There is not really any way to refine the search other than location and salary settings. I tend to want to ignore everything not posted within the last week or two. Overall, I think the app puts too much emphasis on the whole swiping left and right gimmick that it takes away from the functionality of job searching.
There is a very confusing way this app works. You reject or apply to a job. Saving seems to be not an option. Tried saving some for research and the stupid app sends an apply instead. Guess I'll be deleting this app. Its nearly useless as a phone app.
Monster Worldwide, Inc. April 25, 2017
Hi William,
It's already possible to save jobs for later instead of applying immediately . The option is in the overflow menu at the top right of the screen. Most definitely a much better layout and system then the last. Very easy and haven't had any issues what so ever.
I keep getting relevant jobs and the swipe feature is a real pain, I don't normally rate apps, but this has become a bad app. I am uninstalling it; a change for the worse.
Really like this app before the update it got in the last few months. I got a new phone at the beginning of the year so I didn't redownload this app until recently. Ever since I downloaded it I've been contacted daily from support about things I've never inquired about, very annoying to have to open the app and read a message when there is nothing I asked for help with or to be notified about. Also the new set up is just SO HARD to follow. I used to log on and there would be TONS of jobs recommend and in my area, that were related to my search criteria. Now it seems there are barely any jobs posted for in my area, and it's recommended me for jobs I'm not at all qualifed for or interested in. Also don't know how, but I was just trying to swipe out of the way one of the lousy jobs recommended to me on the home screen and now I applied for it I guess! No way to unapply that I have been able to figure out. This app has a lot of work to do to be as good as it used to be in my opinion.
Wow wow wow! So easy! This app is way better than the old Monster app! Uploaded my resume and started applying right away, I've already heard back from recruiters, such an easy way to find a job. Fingers crossed!!!
i am going to be moving. Looking for a job at the new location. The app would Only look in my current location. Useless.
Monster Worldwide, Inc. April 25, 2017
Hi Maxwell,
You can easily change the job search location in your filter. To open the filter, simply click the funnel at the top right of the screen on the "Jobs" feed. Currently I'm searching through the different branches you could work for by using this app. If I get hired and the app truly works I'll post again And let every one know. The customer care is unreal, they message you instantly too make sure all is going well while applying i would definitely recommend this 2 a friend, so far.
Horrible Specific Search terms yield hundreds of unrelated jobs, completely unrelated waste of time thank you for nothing
This app is a joke, it's literally a tinder app for jobs, you can't Search keywords. That's why indeed is better.
Monster Worldwide, Inc. May 18, 2017
Hi Tony,
Actually you CAN search using keywords. You just click that little magnifying glass in the top right of your job feed, and enter a term related to the type of job you're looking for (Example: marketing). If you click the funnel icon next to it, more filters are available. Good luck. I been having this app for a while, but i dint use it for while lol! But now started to search for a job and there are lot job to applied what search for. Thanks Monter!!
I am subscribed with lininked in and indeed job alerts. I have been a server both banquet and regular serving in many restraunt"s. I currently a student at Ivy Tech and have obtained all my certifications in engine automotive.. I need to stay local.. I'm hope to get some more positive results.
Like tinder for jobs, very easy to use. Be aware if you login with Facebook, it will upload your Facebook name and profile picture
You click apply job and get "this browser is unsupported" so you can't actually apply, so it's useless to me.
Monster Worldwide, Inc. May 18, 2017
Hi Casey,
This is the first I've heard of this issue. If you can remember what job you were applying to, or the company it was with, please click "Feedback" under settings to send us an email, and we'll look into it. I keep getting applications for jobs that are too far from home, my transportation is a bike, and it only shows job openings for jobs that require specific certifications that require you to go to college first.
Despite using the filters and keywords, all the jobs listed were not related to my job field. I look under credit Underwriter/ risk Management.... And get job postings for nurses. This app is a terrible resource for job hunters
The app is horrible. You can only swipe jobs left and right, making looking for jobs take forever. No narrowing down to a specific field
Monster Worldwide, Inc. May 30, 2017
Hi Gabe. You can narrow things down by adding a term in the search bar, and by making adjustments to your filters. Awesome & Easy app that sends your resume out without going thru the long hassle of filling out application.
