It's a great ap, a little heavy on ads but hey, I'm using the free version. Some negative reviews could be solved by studying it more and read the description. A HELP link would be helpful. The radar is too fast, is not displayed in real time. Also hard to see thru the radar to present location. Need a choice of more detailed maps. Overall it's a good ap. Doubt if there is a better one out there.

Lightning strikes are a constant threat in the southern US (I've lost two modems, a TV, and other expensive electronics to them) which makes this app and it's warnings of strikes in the area a lifesaver. This simple app has lots of handy options such as the ability to adjust the radius from your location you'd like to be warned about, etc. One of the best things is that even on the the free version there's no screen-filling ads to click through to get to the app. : )

I really wish this told me how far away the strikes were in the notification. As it is, I have to open the app to find out. My other weather app does better even though it's not designed specifically for lightning. I know that I can set the mileage parameters for alerts, but I'd like the alert to contain that information - 10, 20 and 30 mile radius strikes are all important but I will act differently based on them. I will probably be deleting this app.

If you're interested, the pro version of the app does show how far away the strike is in the notification itself.
