Probably the best looking music player out there.
Material Design
The user interface matches every single detail of the material design guidelines to ensure Phonograph is an eye candy for you. The experience is even better on devices running Android Lollipop and above.
Easy to Use
No complicated or overblown menus but a familiar and clean interface.
Last.fm Integration
Phonograph automatically downloads additional information about your artists such as their images or biographies. When you install the official Last.fm app, scrobbling will work right out of the box too.
Dynamic Colors
The UI colors change dynamically to match the main contents base color.
Customizability
There is an inbuilt theme engine with many different colors to choose from.
Tag Editor
The tag editor allows you to easily edit the tags of your music files such as title, artist, album name (...) for single songs or whole albums. You can even either let Phonograph automatically download missing album covers for you (powered by Last.fm) or choose one from your internal storage.
And OF COURSE
- Phonograph has got all those standard features such as:
- Create and edit playlists
- Homescreen widget
- Lockscreen playback controls
- "Go-To Actions" such as jump from a song or an album right to its artist
- ...
Keep in mind that this is a beta, more features are coming soon

Awesome app with an amazing UI! Love everything about it! Big fan of the developers... Just 1 thing can you guys add a more efficient way to re-order the playlist?? Like holding and moving the selected song up the order? That would be great

It's a lovely app. Music playing is simple, ID3 tags can be easily edited, playlists csn be exported hassle freely. Must have music player even if you have other apps.

The best third party music player available on the play store. Very minimal looking and customisable application. The colours is really cool. Excellent application. I've tried all the other third party music apps, but nothing compares to this. I've tried pi player, black player, even stock google play music, OnePlus music app, not one is as comfortable as phonograph. The folders option is amazing. You can switch between the library view and folder view. Good job.

Really great looking app and well made but lacks a major feature I need; chromecast support. Also there is a persistent bug where the notification shows a pause button even when my music is paused and therefore makes it so I can't swipe away the notification

Excellent great app. Very minimal, clear, organized. Wasn't expecting something like this when I downloaded it. I have had generally bad experience with music apps, something is always missing. Specially with the looks. But this is great. I would love if there were an equalizer though I use a separate app for that anyway, and more widgets as well, like Google play has with the shuffle all music widget, or playlist shortcuts. Nevertheless, five star from me. Because it's freaking clean.

Excellent music player, my favorite so far. It uses battery a bit more than Rocket Player and doesn't support Google's Chromecast, however. Otherwise, an amazing app.

The most materialistic music player, ever. Animations behaves as they're supposed to do. Last.FM and tag editor are a little buggy, but except them everything works almost perfectly. One thing I want to request is exporting playlists. Recently I had to recover my phone and I had no way to keep my playlists.
Thank you very much this app is just great, nice design and very organized. The tag editor does not work on my Nexus 5 for some reason so it's kinda hard to brows my tracks. When I use the tag editor the track disappears from the app and seems to get corrupted in files. Is there anything I can do to fix this?
App is beautifully designed. Sadly, it fails to do the one thing I really need it to. The playlist function is ultimately broken. I spent hours recreating playlists from Poweramp in this app only to have them duplicate and empty themselves upon each phone restart. That therefore renders this app unusable for me.
Sony Xperia Z5, Android 7.0. It's a very clean, user friendly interface. I love that last.fm is the source for downloading artwork. One thing I noticed was that every so often when it either moves on to the next song or I skip it, it will pause. Other than that, it's great. You've got some cola coming your way :)
I was going to write a lengthy true but I decided to keep it short and summarize it in a few points. 1. Great design and materialistic look, the UI is just amazing and the animations are eye candy. 2. It recognizes all of your songs in your library instantly, no need to go through menus and add them manually. 3. Easy to use and navigate, everything is well put together. Overall it's a great music player that should suit a lot of people's needs when it comes to playing music, and it's FREE which blows my mind. I do wish for it to have a version of ANDROID AUTO, the app just feels like it was made to be used with it.
Edit: Notification still having issues not swiping away. Slick, smooth and sophisticated - the audiophile's dream. Issues with Nougat on Samsung S7; notification no longer changes to the full accent colour bar.
I love this app, have been using for months.Just two suggestions. 1.Provide an option to filter out audio files less than a specific size/length.I dont want my whatsapp audios and recordings to apper in my song list. 2.Please add fade-out effect while play/pause a song.
I tried this app because I wanted a different sound and equalizer options than my default music app. But this app connects to the default equalizer only. Very disappointed with this. Ui looks nice and other options are great for a free app. But disappointed with the lack of independent sound modification options.
All in all, an amazing, minimalist music app! My only suggestion is that A. For some reason, the artist art for MGMT is broken and crashes the app. This needs to be fixed as it can cause a lot of problems. And B. Perhaps the addition of a way to sort albums, for example, in artist alphabetical order, instead of album. That way all albums are grouped by artist in the list :)
Needs a genre menu. Please incorporate and will give 5 stars!!! Edit: Albums with various artists aren't fully supported. Not all artists show up in "artists" tab and albums are labeled with the artist of the first track. Nonetheless its still the best music player. Fix this and I will give 5 and consider donating.
So I've been using this app for a while - easily the best music app out there. However, there's never a perfect app and I'd like to suggest a couple of improvements: - Android Auto support would be lovely - Cross-fade support - When adding a song to the queue, have it join after the songs you've added to play next, rather than at the end of the queue (like iTunes does)
I find the google music player useless. So thankfully after moving away from my Xperia I found dis app. All in all a very apt music player. Love d interface.
Everything is so damn fine but one thing just ruins it.. If you rearrange your Playlist while a song in it is playing.. Then playing order of the whole app is affected.. Nothing plays in order anymore, it's like permanent random. 😕 Wish this could be fixed then a 5* no doubt.
My biggest problem is the equalizer, why can't it use the same one as every other app? This one doesn't work and doesn't have genre specific presets. Other than that it's beautiful
The Tag Editor was working great before but after the update once i try to grab an album cover from last.fm and save changes the album cover disappears and everything i edited (title, artist, album) reverted. when i try to edit it again, the info i put is still there but when i save it, nothing changes. pls fix! thank you!
I can't do clear playlist and play the folder with just one tap. I need to first clear the queue and then play next. Annoying.
IT DOES NOT ADD FILES FROM SD CARD TO THE LIBRARY. I formated my SD card many times, did many scans in the app, it sees the files and scans them but the library still empty. Tried so many times. Useless for me.
Whatever we need in any music player , all is here Just include folders options in library section rather putting it in side scrolling menu.... Folders option should show all the name of the folders which contain the songs Hoping to get better..... Still everything is awesome
Please add ability to edit tags for files in external storage. My internal storage is so low I have to keep all my songs in Sd card, so this feature is pretty useless to me now.
Favorite music app with two huge problems. For some music files, it freezes on the beginning so it sounds like the music is pausing and playing randomly. The other one is potentially dangerous, sometimes when i play a file, it jumps to Max volume for a very quick instant in the beginning. Depending on the headphones, it can cause a headache, my earbuds mainly give my ear drums a very nice shock that i definitely enjoy (sarcasm). If this could get fixed, that'd be great. And it's not the issue of the files, my computer plays the same files perfectly.
Great music player. It would be nice to have an option to sort a playlist alphabetically. I have a problem with playlists, after a few days, every one I create disappears.
Everything is good nice material design. But there is a problem whenever i closed Phonograph Bass restore to 0
The current playlist bug is fairly major: playlists you create will spontaneously vanish. (Otherwise I really like this app.)
The best music player for android. Highly customisable clean material design look. ❤️ Feature request: It would be great if you could disable/remove my top tracks and history (in the playlist tab). Some people like me just want to setup our own, and don't need to know what songs we've been listening to.
Great music app with a wonderful layout but every playlist I make in it disappears after a while! Even the app's own Favourites and Last Added playlists get randomly wiped.
I've tried almost every music player and always came back to Phonograph. It needs new features and gapless playback improvements.
Almost perfect. Things I don't like: borders around albums when scrolling through them are a bit ugly, the black text colour I would prefer to be a light grey, and the widget could use more customization, only improvements I think could be made is adding customization for these colours, that's it. Great job guys
This is a good music app, light, simple and modern. But one thing that be a problem is the startup time is taking little awhile
Fantastic music player (much better than the previous one I was using)! I really like the "favorite" option because I just need to press the heart button without having to worry about a drop down menu. I just have to press the button. I also love the shuffle feature.
UI theme request for "now playing", white/light artwork blur background like 'Samsung/Apple Music' players, the current are looking mighty bland on the S8 ratio
It's way better than other music players. But needs some work on crashing and notification. Thank you.
Album artwork in thumbnail is wrong and showing random images. But in now playing, it is correct. Please fix ASAP.
Awesome music player. Fell in love with it right after I used it. Keep up the good work dev!
Good. Only "Storage Access Framework" feature for Lollipop+ devices is missing; which enables the write access to External SD cards. Please add this missing feature to the app; then I'll give 5 stars.
