PPID Kemendagri is mobile version from application which published by Ministry of Home Affairs Indonesia that is implementation from UUD 14 2008 about transparency for public information. PPID Kemendagri application is supported by Ford foundation to bridge the process of documentation, implementation of public services in Indonesian government.
One goal of Law No.14/2008 on Opennes of Public Information is to make the national and local governmentspractice transparency and accountability. The Law also has the goal of guaranteeing the rights of citizens to have access to information about planning, budgeting and public policy making.
The Law mandates government institutions to establish an Informationand Documentation Management Officer (Pejabat Pengelola Informasi dan Dokumentasi - PPID) body that is responsible for managing data and information and responding to information requests from the public.
According to Article 222 of Law No. 32/2014, the Ministry of Home Affairs (MOHA) is responsible for the effective implementation of the Law at the province, regency and city level. The responsibility of making PPIDs work effectively does not solely rest in the hands of the MOHA. Local governments are responsible for providing adequate staffing, budget allocation and capacity building to PPIDs to allow the body develops a system that is responsive to the demands for public information.
