1) Generally speaking, this isn't a "coach", it's a quizz. It doesn't teach you anything, it assumes you already know things and punishes you for mistakes without explaining why the move was wrong. 2) Bare bones, ugly interface. 3) Unlike most intuitive apps nowadays, it requires you to tap again to unselect a piece before you tap on another of your own, otherwise it counts as a mistake. That's just bad design, not the player's mistake. 4) It's padded out with repeat puzzles to feed more ads.

Runs great. Lots of puzzle, same as any large chess book; however, it fits in my pocket, plays music, and doubles as a phone. Only thing that irritates me is, on occasion, my move is not what I intended, (fat fingers?) and may even be illegel, but still counts as a wrong move. Petty, I know. Over all great app, may get the pro version.

I've used a few of these apps, this is so far the best one. As a beginner, I appreciate this app because it breaks down so many situations you face in chess and it challenges you on them using puzzles. There are 100 puzzles for each level of difficulty (easy medium hard). Other apps want to over challenge you from the start and I found that to not be as effective. Whereas this app pretty much installs the lessons in your head.
