Ground Pounders is a hex-based, turn-based strategy wargame. Inspired by classic strategy games like Panzer General, and steeped in the lore of the Sword of the Stars universe, Ground Pounders offers a new generation of gamers an updated taste of turn-based strategic warfare. Best of all, you can play it cross platform between desktop machine and mobile devices.
Ground Pounders lets players control an army from one of two factions. Each army is comprised of dozens of different unit types. You will lead your ground pounders across a variety of worlds, increase their experience levels and abilities over the course of two campaigns, and use them to unlock special action cards that can add special effects to single-player games, or to up the stakes in your cross-platform multi-player battles.
FEATURES
-Control one of 2 armies – Human and Hivers
-80+ units covering land, sea, and air
-Battle across alien worlds on exotic battlefields, including airless moons, lava plains, and meteor-blasted wastelands
-Seize orbital superiority and call down bombardment on your foes
-Build airfields, fortify areas, and repair or destroy bridges
-Improve your unit’s experience and abilities over 2 campaigns
-Unlock and collect combat cards, including faction-unique cards!

Can't create a profile name Keyboard doesn't work properly on stock Android 5.0.1 on Google Nexus 7. Judging by the other comments and the dates they were posted I'm not holding out much hope of this being resolved. Has the dev abandoned the game...? UPDATE - got around it by installing SwiftKey keyboard - but I shouldn't have to. It SHOULD work with the default keyboard.

Unplayable LG G3, June 2015; if I try to play a mission it locks up and spams errors about missing a graphic for rolling dice. A pity too because I really like the SOTS franchise. Please fix this so I can remove this 1-star review!

Unable to play On my Nexus 9, I cannot get past creating a profile name. There is no next button or similar to proceed with.

Could be okay, but... ...keyboard input via Android tablet fails as the carriage return is changed to a space, so the text entry can't be finalised. So can't create a profile name or deck name. so can't play the tutorial, or anything else.

I cannot get the campaign to work I can play the scenarios fine. Purchased the human campaign, but cannot get it to work, stops running when opening campaign on a galaxy 4. Love the rest though.

Not for phones. Appears to be designed to be played on a tablet or laptop. Much of the text is less than 1 mm tall on the screen of my Samsung Galaxy Note 3.

Complex and rewarding The tutorials are very informative, I don't know what Russ was looking at. I've been looking for a game of this depth to play on the phone. The cards you are given are not some magic abilities, more like technical opportunities. Added value if you ever played Sword of the Stars (SotS) on the PC as it gives you a glimpse into the ground based battles to complement the space opera of SotS.
Excellent Game Now heres a strategy game I like a turn based deck builder military game and its free unless you want scenarios or campaigns in which case for 6 bucks you can get a bundle deal and get all of them, the game is easy to learn hard to master and is a bit over whelming to noobs but well worth the time it takes to learn.
Tutorial Is Broken I love old tabletop hex-based wargames, and was very happy to see Kerberos revisiting this class of game. However, this version at least is simply not playable. The tutorial (aside from being click-happy and very hard to read) kept getting into invalid states - e.g., you must move a specific unit to advance, but it doesn't respond to taps. I hope they fix these issues, because based on this free preview I don't expect the paid version to be worth spending money.
Brilliant I cannot get enough of your games played the pit on pc purchased from gog constantly with all dlcs and now ground pounders which I love to bit please keep up the great work I hope ypu make more games like this and The pit sequel sword of the stars please. Thank you again reccomend this game for all.
