About this app

Call Recorder (Total Recall) is the most trusted & reliable call recorder for Android mobile phones available - and best of all it's a FREE. In fact, it is one of the only real two-sided call recorders apps you'll find on the Play Store and is compatible with more devices than any other recording app. Most competing apps often don't record both sides of the call. If Recording your calls is important to you then you've found the only CallRecorder you need.

---------------------------------

IMPORTANT NOTE!

As many of you are aware, there has been significant limiting changes to call recording capability in Android OS 9.0 (Oreo) and 10.0 updates which affects every manufacturer that has limited our call recorder's ability to capture both sides of the call recording on Android 9.0 or above. By default in many cases, only your own voice may be captured (or both sides on some devices when enabling the speakerphone, which is typically unsatisfactory in a private conversation!). However we have just released an update that by granting the "acessibility" permission to Total Recall at the time of installation, allows us to capture both sides of the call (although the resulting audio may be slightly lower than on previous OS versions)

Also on most major brand models, we have a complete solution to capture both sides of the call loud and clear - this feature is available only to "rooted" device users. Our new technology using "root" to overcome this limitation is based on a Magisk "systemless module", which allows direct access to both sides of the audio required. "Systemless" in effect means that no "real" disk modifications are applied directly to your device's /system directory. This is the preferred way to avoid any "permanent" changes to the core of the device which are difficult to "undo". Additionally this module can easily be unloaded at any time you desire.

For further detailed information regarding this as well as assistance with this solution, please contact us via email and we'll be happy to help.

Every inbound call shows as Unknown number. Outbound calls are logged fine. Needs to be fixed otherwise can't tell the calls apart when you really need the recordings. Update: reinstalled as suggested, all permissions set to Allow. No difference. Running Android 9. This is the best call recorder out there, bar none. But useless if I can't tell one call apart from another. Edit 2: found an alternative app where developer fixed the Android 9 change. Cancelled subscription, uninstalled app. Problem solved for me. But guess what? This is a Google Android device, upon which all other Android OS's are based... so you can fix it now, or later. But not for me. I've moved on. PS - recording works fine. Inbound call logging is not working.

I'd like to tell you that Total Recall didn't change, Android 9 pie has broken recording.

The Accessibility Service setting shows "Not working. Tap for info. This service is malfunctioning.". Then I reenable it and then it works again for a few days. Update May 2022: 1. I had already selected app not to be optimized in the battery settings. 2. It is not possible to set the Total Recall app as device administrator. 3. The app had already been pinned in task overview and no extra battery managment is used. Not fixed for more than a year.

This is also typically caused by a battery manager app or process on the device. Find what setting/app this is, and whitelist Total recall and you'll see a huge improvement.

It worked great to start with, I've had it for 9+ months and originally, it very reliably recorded both sides of the conversation. I've always used a Bluetooth device and that's the reason I selected this recording app. It was the only app that captured both sides of the conversation when I was on Bluetooth. However, lately, it has started only recording my side of the conversation. I have not changed my settings and I can't figure out how to fix it.

What's new

Adds new "accessibility" (root not required) option to enable 2-sided call recording on many devices updated to Android 9 & 10 where call recording was previously broken.
