When it works, its great! Developers seem to respond in about a week, which is helpful. Occasionally it can get stuck (especially after an android update π which I blame android and t-mobile, who went from being behind on updates to hyper updating way too often). After my experience with the developer, I'd say, if it's not working, let them know. They seem reasonably responsive and oriented to get it working. This app is super resourceful coordinating work across the globe quick & efficiently.

I love using the Take A Name app since I spent a lot of time on the road but lately I am unable to complete the sign in process. It will let me enter my login information but just keeps spinning like it is searching and than says unable to connect. I Uninstaller the app and reloaded it but still no success. I have a android phone. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Tried this app again over two years after my last attempt, and although they promised improvements to the issues I had last time, I didnt find any evidence of any improvements that fixed our situation. My sons are always looking for names to bring to the temple for baptisms, and I put in the search criteria "male" and "baptisms", but it only brought back a bunch names they had shared with the temple, both genders, all having the baptism/confirmation done! Useless for helping them. Uninstalled.

Sorry you had a bad experience. The behavior you're seeing is a requirement of FamilySearch. For members having a large number of names already reserved, even if shared with the temple, we're required to offer those names first. Try running the app using one of your son's accounts, where you don't already have a lot of names reserved.
