About this app

Nau mai, haere mai!

Welcome to the Kia Rere app which uses your story to help you easily engage with the Maori language and culture.

We've included some basic information on te reo Māori (the Māori language), mihimihi (acknowledgements and introductions), tikanga (customs) and waiata (songs). We also help you create your own mihimihi so you can share your story and connection with the land with the world.

Keep an eye out for whakatauki I whakatauaki (proverbs) throughout the app and hover over the content to learn more about the proverb as your guide.

Kia Rere symbolises Air New Zealand’s role as leaders in promoting the values of Aotearoa to the world.
