Belagavi is one of the largest district in Karnataka with an geographical area of 13,445 Sq. Km. The district lies between 15-23’ to 16-28’ North latitude and 74-05’ to 75-28’ East longitude. Belagavi district has emerge as one of the leading district in agriculture, horticulture, sericulture, livestock and allied activities. District has one of the biggest vegetable auction centre which exports vegetables to neighouring states like Maharashtra, Goa, Andhra Pradesh. The district is rightly called as Sugar Bowl of Karnataka, which have 24 sugar factories. It is also leading leader in production of milk and milk products. Keeping in view of the potentiality of the district an additional Krishi Vigyan Kendra (KVK) was sanctioned to KLE Society, Belagavi.
