Ratings and reviews

Used to be a great app. Since the last update though, it's very hard to use. The links for footnotes no longer appear to work. When you open a book, it automatically turns the screen brightness up to maximum, which makes it almost impossible to look at because it's so bright. You can't turn the brightness down either because it somehow overrides the phone settings. None of the settings seem to allow you to change any of this and re-installing it didn't do anything.

I did a trial subscription. it took a little too much work to browse audiobook genres. the ad said "no credits needed" then I look and see you need a *credit* to listen to anything or pay full price for the book. canceling was crazy hard. I ended up having to delete my account because I did not have a purchase receipt. it was a *trial* subscription all in all not worth the time or energy. so many other apps that work better.

The Kobo app needs some work, especially the audiobooks. It freezes when I try to listen to back to back samples. I have to power off my phone in order for audiobooks to finish downloading. The app will show that a book is on chapter one when it's really on chapter nine. I have to close the app and reopen it for the app to catch up. I've learned not to pause a book and press play when it gets stuck on a chapter because it starts the book over.
