Doesn't show actual page numbers, which makes citations for academic papers difficult. The way it lists page numbers is based on chapter or chapter subsection, followed by what page of the chapter you are on (e.g. Chapter 5 page 10 of 35). The problem is, chapter 5 can have between 6 and 142 pages depending on what font size you use. That's not very useful academically. My workaround for this has been to go to a website that has a searchable preview of the book, search for the text I'm quoting and get the actual page number from that. I used Kobo because my textbooks were a bit cheaper than the app I was using, but will probably need to change back next term.
I love that you guys came out with an app because my kobo was stolen and I was dreading the cost of having to buy a new one, just so I could read the $400 dollars worth of books I've got. Now that you guys have developed a waterproof one I'm looking at buying it once the book store in my town gets there supply. But, this app is fantastic I can read on my phone tablet and later my near kobo
Thankfully after searching and trying out multiple apps, Kobo is the only one that will correctly read my Warhammer ePub tiles without any weird glitches and text compresion. All the words and letter in their right place, on the page with the pictures- thank you!
I would give this app 5 stars if only the brightness adjustment feature was better. It relies on the system brightness which you have to go into your settings and manually change. Therefore I never use this app, only my Kobo reader - I would love to be able to read in bed in the dark but it's too bright.
I really like this possibility to ready a book in a app with a cool page effect and page marks and easy share. I like it so far. There are few points to improve: - to select text in different pages to share ( if the paragraph ends in the next page for example ) - to share the whole selected text in Facebook messenger ( the kobo advertising text is too big, there is no enoght space for my paragraph. ) - to unmark texts in the same way you mark it. ( Right now you need to go to the menu, then to the marked text, then find the text there, then select the option, then press delete. )
[update -- Still an excellent app (and much easier to read with on my new Sony Z2 :-), but still missing the possibility to synchronise side loaded books between devices.] Excellent app, even on this tiny (320x480) screen! Just a pity there is no way to sync "side loaded" books between my Kobo and phone.
If you are seeing a blank sign-in or store page, please update your Chrome Browser or Android System WebView app.
