Awesome. Needs some tweaking though This app is smooth quick and awesome all in one. One minor thing that prompted this review: sorting. I have a comic series that goes 1-101, and after issue 10, instead of 11, the next issue is 100. I couldnt find any other way to sort either, by name, date or anything like that. I suppose I could just rename my files to read 010, 011, 012, etc to fix my issue, but having a basic optional function such as sorting would be a nice feature.
Best comic reader I've used so far Superb app. Host of features including good arrangement of comics and folders, shows which ones I'm currently reading and how much I've progressed, automatically turns double page spreads into horizontal full screen view (unlike ComicRack) and quick response while turning pages. And all this for free with minimal advert interruption. A must-have app.
Great app but it crashes sometimes Great app, it is great for reading comics better than others to me. Seems to open more files, able to go to the next comic, and allows resizing. I do not think other apps do but I could be wrong. It just crashes from time to time, say once a day with after reading 3-4 comics, so not super often. Not sure I would give it 5 stars but it is really close.
Best comic reader so far This app is really great, I love the thumbnail browsing ability and the whole app has a good polished feel to it. The magnifying glass is a great idea, but feels clunky and the magnified view is usually worse than what I was already looking at. The magnification settings seem nonfunctional. I really wish I could set the pinch-zooming to stop at 100%, or some kind of 100% zoom option so I'm not reading a blurry comic. I can't wait to see this app improve, thanks for the hard work!
Great Comic Reader! But there's a rub.... Great Comic Reader - Please donate so the devs can keep improving. *Update* is there a way to store App Data in a manner that can protect it from Cache Cleaners? Android is clunky and requires constant cleaning... could App data such as read comics and other usage be stored in a location other than System Cache, therefore protecting it from Cache Cleaners?
Adequate, Pretty, Slow Komik has a nice, modern look and its features and settings cover the basics and a bit more in a straightforward way, but page turns are slow and the controls are limited. Zoom is glitchy and touch seems easily confused--are you turning, scrolling, zooming? Perfect Viewer has it beat on core performance and is waaaaaaay more customizable. I'd love to graft Komik's library onto PV's reader.
* Added a "thumbnail generation" dialog
* Added a preference to disable the "thumbnail generation" dialog
* Improved the speed of the file browser
* Added several performance tweaks to improve speed, cpu usage, and stability
