Only way to restore Subway Surfers This app was literally the only way I could find to restore my game data from Subway Surfers. I know it's dorky, but my son and I have put a lot of time into that game. Kiloo has no method for backing up the data. I bought a new phone (Note 7) and nothing got moved over in game center. What a same. Well Helium saved the day. Made a back up on my old phone, copied the backup folder to my PC, then copied it to my new phone, did a restore and voila. Awesome, awesome, awesome.
More updates please I absolutely love the cloud backup and restore with premium however I do have some recommendations (1) Doesnt backup apps samsung bundles part of the Rom such as whatsapp.(2) I really wish there is a way to backup account & settings. (3) Also i cannot restore or backup to & from SD directly. (4) ability to save helium app groups to cloud (I flash my device frequently & I don't want to reconfigure app groups everytime). I thank the developer as I'm closer to stress free android backup without root
Does not work ON ONE PLUS 2. Chrome app says that "Helium has been activated. You can disconnect your Android." but when I disconnect it, the Android App says "Please connect via USB". When I connect via USB, the Android Helium App says "Waiting for the Helium Desktop Application to enable application backup on your Android." I have tried the Chrome App & the Desktop App. Tried installing the recommended ADB Universal Drivers instead of my manufacturer's ADB Drivers. Tried starting in different orders: USB connection, Start Chrome App, Start Android App. Normally I connect in MTP (Media Device) mode but it recommended PTP (Camera) mode. Have tried both ways. USB Debugging is on as requested. An hour of trying and now I give up.
It worked ok Mediocre at best. It was not very straightforward to get started and I had to try a couple different configurations to get it to work. After it synchronized and I was checking apps and files, I saw that it didn't copy everything over, probably only about 90% of what I had. I ended up having to manually go through and copy over the remaining data, which is the whole point of a sync program. It worked. It didn't work well.
It works, but I do have some suggestions: 1. On the download page for Helium desktop application, there shouldn't be a "recommended" if it doesn't actually detect the device os. 2. It would be more useful if user could backup to memory cards instead of internal memory.
Helium? It's a gas! Helium is my no. 1 go-to app for backing up and restoring apps and their settings when I get a new device. Really gets the job done with a 99% success rate. Good work, team!
