MK802 4.0.4 (Firmware rev2) ClockWorkMod Recovery installation

This program requires root permission, busybox and Android 4.0.4 to work.
If you don' t know what root or what ClockworkMod Recovery is then you should not use this app.

MK802II owners should step back and think twice before trying to install CWM. There are various reports of success (with CWM) and disasters.
Make sure you have the most recent versions of BusyBox and SuperUser installed.
Make sure that both apps are up to their current releases and not using legacy (superuser) or 1.18 (busybox).

CWM does work perfectly.. and have been able to do nandroid backup with ease and restore my Mk802 to its previous state after doing a quick flash via LiveSuit. Goodbye Titanium.
Remember... if you do flash via LiveSuite (which we will all do over next week or so) you will need to re-install CWM.

CMW use: You can use a USB wireless mouse and keyboard plugged directly into the Mk802 (usb hub will not be recognised).

Main issue most will face when it comes to the Upgraded firmware and CWM, will be that the CWM menu will now display incorrectly. This was caused by a change in the kernels cedar. You will be faced with a screen split into four views, and every other selection made will blank the screen.. generally just keep an eye on the top right screen.

This is meant to replace Superuser (if installed), you use either one or the other. You cannot combine them. Statements that this breaks Superuser are therefore completely nonsensical.

NOTICE: A SPECIAL PROCEDURE IS NEEDED FOR UNINSTALLATION. IF YOU DO NOT LIKE THE APP, DO *NOT* JUST UNINSTALL IT, YOU *WILL* LOSE ROOT.

Superuser access management runs through a so called "su binary". There can be only one of these at a time. So if you install SuperSU, your previous superuser access management solution will no longer operate. So if you want to switch back: (1) Open that application, and search for an option for it to install/update/replace the "su binary". (2) Confirm root-using apps are using the superuser solution you want. (3) Uninstall SuperSU.

This app cannot be uninstalled if it was installed with your ROM or root. If there is no uninstall option, it's because you placed it in /system/app, not me. It is impossible for an app to be installed in /system/app by the Play store. In fact, the entire /system partition is read only at runtime. The only way for an app to be placed in /system/app is via a rooting process (which usually installs Superuser), or by remounting the system partition as read/write and manually putting it there.

The goal of this application is to provide even the newest Android user with a simple method to check their device for root (administrator/superuser) access. This is a very simple application to notify the user whether or not they have properly setup root access.

This application will test the device for root access using a very simple, quick and reliable method. The su binary is the most common binary used on Android devices to grant and manage root access. Root Checker will check and verify that the su binary is located in a standard location on the device. Root Checker will also confirm the proper permissions and flags on the su binary in addition to testing that access is granted by the su binary.

Many times users experience issues along the path of installing, configuring and gaining root access. For some users the process can seem complex while for others the process can seem simple. Regardless of the user's technical skill set, Root Checker, will quickly and correctly verify whether or not root access is 100% functioning. The process of confirming root access is sometimes known by other terms such as, gaining superuser access or gaining administrator access. Root Checker covers all these terms as they relate to one core function, being able to execute commands with root access.

If the Superuser or SuperSU applications are installed and working properly, these applications will prompt the user to accept or deny the root access request from Root Checker. CWM Backup Manager is a simple tool that takes a copy of the backup in the secure directory and saves it on the local storage on the phone with just one click.
This allows you to save the backup locally instead of transferring the backup from the device to the computer and from the computer back to the local storage of the device.

Why another Superuser?

* Superuser should be open source. It's the gateway to root on your device. It must be open for independent security analysis. Obscurity (closed source) is not security.

Helium is the missing app sync and backup solution for Android.

a) Root user? You're done!

3. Connect Android to computer.
a) You may need to set your USB Connection Mode to "PTP". (Nexus 7, Nexus 10, etc)
