About this app

With the Cultural History Map, you can navigate on a detailed modern map, click on different historical map layers to see how it looked before, read about any registered antiquities/cultural monuments, read thousands of legends from the 19th century and make your own notes about places of interest. Perfect for genealogical research if you want to go out and see how the ancestors lived, or for the homestead association's croft inventory, or why not the archeologically interested.

The app also provides offline functionality, which means that before you go out into the forest you can save the map layers you are interested in to your phone and you can thus navigate around and see all the information even in places where you have no or poor reception.

The app is a great help for the genealogist, the local historian, the hobby archaeologist or just anyone interested in their history

In addition to the modern Topographic map, the app also contains the following map layers.
* The General Staff map
* Economic map
* The district map
* The body map (18th century to 20th century)
* Aerial photo c:a 1960
* Aerial photo c:a 1975
* Geometric Land Books (farm maps 17th century)
* Ancient remains
* Cultural remains Forest
* Sayings from Swedish parishes
* Historic shorelines back to 11,000 BC
* Parish boundaries
