I really like this app, all the recipes have been good, it's extremely convenient it asks about allergies, PREFERENCES. It looks nice and clean, easy to understand interface... But I miss having a widget that tells me what's for dinner, or a quick button to the shopping list. I also have a HUGE list of recipes I would love to add. I was excited to learn they added this option, but only via the app on your phone. Which is a GIANT PAIN. Aside from having to type it all out on your phone the interface is... Stubborn about making you do what it wants, though I do like how it is set up otherwise. For now I'll keep using food planner to decide what's for dinner, but I keep checking for updates.
I love this app, mostly. If the glitches with adding recipes would be fixed, I would give this 5 stars. But as is, I can't add a recipe. It never allows me to make it past the ingfredients page. And I can't import from Pinterest. I try to login, and it gets stuck thinking.
This is ALMOST perfect. Between screening out foods my kids straight up won't eat, creating a 10 day meal plan based off 1 shopping trip and pulling local sales in as well. Customizable budget and I can add my husband to my group and he opens the app and sees what to make for dinner with easy instructions. However. There is not an option to import recipes from other sites and the Pinterest link is broken at best. You can "create" your own recipes but it's clunky and if you don't have the recipe right in front of you on another screen its a lain to flip back and forth on a mobile. You can't plan a meal without creating a shopping trip. (E.g. with pantry items) I haven't found a way to "cancel" a trip. The search function is not 100% and the sides are...lacking and repetitive. Also....stroganoff and a pilaf? Some of the main/side pairings are super weird. I get its random but...c'mon a little bit of..context maybe?
We are empty nesters and this makes it easy to cook for 2 people. All meals have been good and shoping is a breeze. No matter how many you are cooking for, this makes life a little easier. Heather than the meal delivery service we used.
This is exactly what I've needed! A meal planned within a budget AND it creates the shopping list. I've recommended the app 3x in the past hour that I've had it.
I love the idea. And we live Treehouse. However I would like the option to add in our own meals onto treehouse table.
- You can now share recipes via email, SMS, or social media. You can also open a recipe on a web browser in order to print it.
- We added several recipe categories, such as dairy-free, gluten-free, and diabetic friendly
- Vegan and Vegetarian diets are now supported in the meal profile
- We introduced style updates for the sidebar and shopping settings UI. Hope you like them!
