Top 3 essential app! I bought this app because my data connection gets stale and has to be googled off and on again before I'll get any data back. I wanted something that would automatically turn data off and then on again when the screen was active, but not turn off data if it was in use. The battery savings was just a plus. This app is everything I hoped for and more! Easy to use, and works very well. Go for either plus or ultimate. You won't be disappointed!
Excellent method of saving power! This program does what it says it does and more! My phone, the LG Spectrum, has an awful battery. On a full charge and with only 5 hours of up time, it was dead by 6:00PM. After downloading juice defender, I got more than twice the battery power. Its so easy to use and works like a charm, especially when comparing it to its competitors like Power Manager. The free version packs a lot of great tools, but I recommend upgrading to at least plus.
Great, BUT... I got the paid version because I wanted to customize which apps can connect and which can't. Warning: this feature doesn't quite work the way i expected. If you open an allowed app, then all apps -including those that you specified as 'do not connect'- CAN and WILL connect in the background. So you're probably good with the free version. It doubles my battery time on the default setting (advanced features didn't make it any better.)
Most Valuable App (Ultimate) Samsung Galaxy S3 went from 6hrs battery life to lasting all day. Increased battery life 2.32x! Turned off phone's auto brightness, set display to zero, then set JD so it adjusts brightness. Samsung Galaxy Note 3: Still working well. Keeps aggressive apps from killing my battery. UI helps me know what each setting does and if I need to use them.
Issue after Kitkat update on Nexus 4 After upgraded to Kitkat on my Nexus 4, Juice Defender wasn't able to properly turn on data (both WiFi and 3G) with schedule. Screen on will definitely turn on data. But when my phone was idle I won't able to retrieve any message at all as I configured Juice Defender to turn on data every 15 minutes. It's a great software and I had been using it for quite some time. I hope developer can fix the issue.
Invaluable Tool Let's face it: battery life on smartphones sucks. Juice Defender makes it suck less. I started out with the free version before upgrading when Plus went on sale and have never regretted the decision. I'm not a power user, so I'm sure there are features I'm missing, but who cares. The app just works, and for the average user, that's enough. Easy-to-use, tons of features (if you're into that sort of thing), and seemingly active development. Get it.
