Believe the hype I wasn't sure how well this app was doing until I upgraded to the Ultimate edition from Plus. The amount of battery life this saves is beyond compare. On standby, in a 12 hour period, my battery went from 100% to only 90%! Now keep in mind this was on a day I didn't do very much on it. The screen was on maybe only 20 minutes out of that entire time, if that. The phone is rated at 15 days of standby time, but we all know in reality it's nowhere close to that. My old Blackberry would have a nearly dead battery in the same amount of time too with a battery that had the exact same capacity. If I'm surfing the internet and playing music, the battery loses about 10% an hour. It easily be double without the app, maybe more. The automatic disabling from data when wifi is on is very helpful. It will shut off both when in standby, and will allow for period connection so you will still get your emails if you configure it to do so. The app also lets you know how much battery you're saving. Freezing unnecessary apps and using common sense play a part in saving battery, but this is a good tag team partner to have.
I'm shocked at how well this app works-Top marks! Galaxy tab 10.1 Bought Ultimate two months ago and was peeved as it did not really support Honeycomb. The last upgrade said it offers better Honeycomb support and I'm blow away. It took me some time to figure out the plethora of settings in the Ultimate version but I'm close to getting about 70 % of it. On the Advanced setting where I set it to only activate mobile reception on certain apps like the browser, marketplace etc. when you use apps that does not need connectivity it switches off reception and on again should you need it. Before the app I always went into settings and switched off background data to save battery. I don't know how it works but I now leave background data on all the time and the battery just lasts and then some. Leaving the tab in standby mode with background data on would deplete the battery in about 6 hours. The battery now last about two days in Advanced mode. Spending 8 hours on the tab in one day I now have battery to spare. I'm still batteling to figure out the schedule and screen brightness settings but I'm sure I'll get there. To the developer a big thanks for the price of a cup of coffee this app is worth every cent!
Great app! I don't know much abt configuring anything but I knew that I hated recharging my phone every two seconds. This app seemed like a good idea and people rated it highly so I gave it a shot. It has auto settings for people like me so it was easy to set up. It estimates power savings but the true test is how long my batt stays charged. I was pleasantly surprised at what a dif this app makes! Already recommended it to several friends.
GREAT APP... but not very intuitive This app lets you customize the connectivity setting on the app level, really amazing especially if you don't mind going through the horrendous and unintuitive interface and experimenting with it. The less tech savvy would not be able to realize its full potential. All in all this app has provided me with much higher battery life and it was well worth the purchase. If the UI is better, it would get a 5 for sure, but it gets a 4 for now.
Outstanding This program has more than doubled the battery life on my HTC One. I am now also using it on my Nexus 7. It takes a little getting used to and a little tweaking but once you have your settings properly established it works great and it's really saves on the battery. If you have questions or experience any problems they offer great support. I highly recommend the ultimate version as the advanced settings really give you a lot more flexibility.
Great, up until 4.2 Update I had spent a bit of time tweaking the settings on this to maximize battery life, and it did really well. Then 4.2 came out and JuiceDefender went bonkers. Wifi disconnects every few seconds, disconnects "automagically" just after an app fires up wifi; it disconnects DURING data transfer (like when I'm streaming a video from the NAS, or when attempting to copy large files). It also ignores the setting changes for the notification icon and widget. Since 4.2, I also think that the life estimates of 2.0+ are wildly inaccurate. I'm disabling this until these issues get fixed.
