Useful but really needs improvement. The map scrolling is terrible, no zoom in or out!!! Map needs to be interactive, let me tap on places for more info! After trying to use this map I realize how good Google Maps is.
Needs More Yeah, this isn't great. There should be a directory of the new food each year. There should be a map that shows the places you've saved and plots your walking path. As apps go, this is embarrassingly lazy and unengaging. Any digital firm in the Twin Cities could've made this significantly better in under a month for a reasonable budget.
Perfect This app does lag, and yes it would be nice to have a zoom function. It is perfect for what it is. I especially like being able to star things, and have them show up on the map! It makes things much easier. Much more useful than pulling out a paper map, I'm probably checking my phone anyway.
An app perfect if your living in 2007... The map only moves in 4 directions (instead of free moving). You can't zoom in or out and scrolling side to side is tedious. If you find the vendors/food you want it thankfully does put a marker on the map. You can do a search in the top right for say "cheese curds" and all vendors that sell curds (presumably) shows up. But the interface is terrible. It really reminds me of an interface I'd expect from my Blackberry 8830 from 2007, not from a full touch screen in 2014. The map needs to have an interactive layer filter as it always will have the default information on it (the same information that's printed on the physical maps) and just adds markers as you add them making it very cluttered. Also, I downloaded this app a few days before the fair and "updated the database" that day. Then I've "updated" it 3 or 4 times more since... I'm confused as too why. Are the vendors and events that dynamic that it requires constant updates? Seems doubtful. Overall, it's "helpful" but I found myself quickly just grabbing a physical map and going to the MN State fair website.
You should be able to sort/search by Blue Ribbon Bargains. You can't zoom in or out of the map. If there is a key to the map, I haven't found it yet. It's basically just the brochure on my phone.
Good, not great The map scrolling is a bit goofy, with only one axis allowed to scroll at a time. Plus zooming out would be nice. No need to zoom in any closer than what is provided currently.
