Really love having the Android app. I've been waiting a long time. It works well with a few adjustments needed. 1) way way way too easy to delete. 2) I would love to see a way to sort through my librarys quickly. Maybe a index down the side we we can jump through alphabetical. 3) I would like to see access to finished date more easily. Now it takes you to the website which is a lengthy process and when you click on the calender to select your date?....?..? Good luck finding it! It's like hide and seek! Really love how convenient it as and the interface with the desk top version. Can't wait for the updates.
Well, it's better than no app. But tags don't appear unless the app opens the web page. Also don't' see how to access my wiki & groups quickly & easily. This is important to me since I value the interactive aspect with other users. Will probably only use this to access my wish list in bricks & mortar stores, do not useful to me.
Assuming it's absolutely perfect in every other respect, this gets only 3 stars from me. That's because it defies gravity and the user's preference by forcing portrait-mode regardless of the orientation of the device. And I, just as stubbornly, use software to force it back to landscape mode. Guess what? It's fine in landscape, no problems. So the developers are alienating a lot of tablet users for no reason at all.
Overall, I like this app better than others I'm trying. I like that it shows book covers in the list, there are lots of sorting options, and I can add cover photos for those not found. BUT I don't like that I can't create lists within my catalog to separate kid's books from adult books or separate by genre. If that feature was added, it'd be perfect.
That was my first rating: Bar code reader is unusable, there could be a problem with camera handling, can not focus and catch a sharp barcode (it is a samsung sII, which makes excellent pics by default); Non-US search sources can not be set, so useless for majority of foreign books. And the update: after trying with an LG G3 phone it worked like a charm. The lack of Hungarian book sources is still problem, but not those of the mobile client.
I'm excited that LT finally has an Android app, but it needs some work. For one, where are the tags? They appear under individual titles but not as a list of tags for browsing. Also, it's not possible to add tags when adding a book. Second, editing a book (to add a review or add tags to new titles) brings up a window of the LT website within the app, but there's no way to get out of it and back to the app without swiping it away and opening the app again (hitting lower-right back means changes aren't saved) – frustrating. Third, reviews that are links do not work as links, unlike the main website; nor can the link be highlighted to copy/paste into a browser. Update: A fourth thing I noticed later is that uploading an image for a cover crashes the app every time.
