Wrong data for Chevrolet Volt and Opel Ampera Even though the Volt and the Ampera have a 16kWh battery, the usable capacity is of only 10kWh. Additionally, the application seems to be extremely pessimistic in its estimates. The concept is great, but has no correlation to the real world performance.
It could be more useful if it was more realistic. It is very pessimistic and in no way correspond to the reality of range achieved with many cars. It makes me wonder if the parameter set as maximum speed refers to the average speed of the trip?
This looks like it should be moderately useful once it adds the Chevy Bolt. I'm giving it the benefit of the doubt for now. An advanced settings screen where you could tweak your car's parameters to reflect your own experience, invent your own car, or hypothesize a pending new release, would be a big help. I'd like to have three versions of the Bolt: my normal, my range-maximizing, and my don't-spare-the-horses-I'm-trying-to-catch-a-ferry.
