Advanced version of "Tasker".. an app which actually introduced automation on android, however it had a poor programming methods. This one has a better approach, still not layman friendly even though we don't expect layman to use this sort of applications. A basic introductory guide is very much necessary... ( I hope you can listen to me developer). Best thing about this application is that it's so gentle on the battery! Getting the paid version as soon as I start feeling the need for it! Kudos to the developer!
I love this app! At first I thought it was a cheaper and simpler alternative of Tasker, but it has NOTHING to envy, it's more intuitive and way better looking. Pros: The 30 block limit is just restrictive enough to test its full capabilities. It comes without ads from the beginning. It's easy to learn even if you're used to Tasker. Block documentation is always at hand, but needs some improvement, still the community flows are an excellent way to learn how to use the blocks properly. Cons: the flows are harder to edit when you start adding more and more blocks, I suggest adding a way to move many blocks at once. It's easy to confuse with AutomateIt, which is a toddler compared to this app, it happened to me and that's why I try it last.
Real tutorials and instructions needed! Real tutorials and instructions are needed! I've written programmes in many different real programming languages. I expected this to be dumbed down so the standard user doesn't require programming knowledge but there is nothing to state how the functions want inputs and outputs. It took me too many hours to get a an app to get a date and time from the user and send it via an email. I know it would have taken me less than an hour to make this as a real app.
It's decent. I don't see the point because you can just write init shell scripts or use crontab, but not a terrible app. I'm not a fan of the "move blocks around" programming over something like C or Python through.
Improvements needed Seems to be advanced enough for construction of quite complicated scripts. However there's a lot of space for improvements. Most important: 1.editing operations guide (how to delete unnamed flow?); 2.corrections of flow connector lines routing algorithm; 3.debug mode; 4.explanations and confirmation dialogs to some options in Settings (there's a lot of space for precise explanations of results and ways of undo).
Automation to the max This is quite easily one of my favorite apps. I use this for everything from scheduling text to automatically send to setting phone to a customized work mode. Ability to set variables and create shortcuts has made it so that this one app has replaced several others I used to use for many of the same task. The UI is simple to use but allows a level of complexity for more involved flows.
