I bought the Hub primarily to use with my Nvidia Shield tablet. It initially connected to the Hub during setup, but shortly after that it would not connect at all. I wound up configuring the Hub with my computer. Tablet and Hub are on the same wi-fi network and my phone (an old Nexus 5) has no trouble finding the Hub. So this app works wonderfully with my phone but not at all with my tablet. For reference, my tablet is running Android 7.0 while my phone is on 6.0.1.
I purchased to be able to control my entertainment system with Alexa. Ended up calling customer service to help me complete the setup as it was not showing up in the Alexa App even though I had linked the accounts. Then tried to add the hub to my smartthings hub and the app told me my phone and the hub have to be on the same network to make any changes. THEY ARE ON THE SAME NETWORK! And there is no way to check the wifi settings on the app. I do have it set up to work (somewhat) with Alexa which is cool. But the app itself is not great. Jury still out on the hub.
I bought the hub expecting that the Android app would be the solution to the tiny labels on the devices' remotes. On my 5 inch phone, the app's buttons are too small to use without reading glasses, so I bought a 7 inch tablet to use as a remote. But on the tablet, the app rearranges the screen to landscape, ignoring the system setting, and makes the buttons *smaller* than on the phone. From the support forums, there doesn't seem to be a way to fix the screen orientation, so this whole exercise has been fun, but didn't solve the original problem. Other than the ease-of-use issues, it's working great.
Sucks. No menu (not even by pressing the phone's physical menu button), although My Harmony says it does. Very limited functionality. Can't delete an activity that doesn't work as it should. Worse, in setting up the Harmony Hub, it changed my My Harmony password so I can't access it anymore. And the Gmail login I use for the app doesn't work for My Harmony. Lastly, you can't exit the app; not even by backing out. You have to hold the phone's Home button and exit that way.
Really very disappointing from a company like Logitech. Really lacking in functionality and poor user interface. I'd like to see a widget and the ability to customise which buttons are displayed in the notification. Also need direct integration with Google Home and there should be a way of linking more than one Hub with Google Home. How about being able to create macros that can be mapped to remote buttons? Take some inspiration from Anymote. Their app with your hardware and device library would be perfect!
Got it for my Google Home and when I first linked the HUB to Google Home after the HUB was set up everything worked fine. Literally the next day when I asked Google Home to command any of my "Activities" the HUB through Google Home states that there are no activities listed. So I have to unlink then relink again for the HUB to communicate to Google Home again. This happens almost daily or every other day. What is don't understand is why doesn't Logitech just allow the HUB be connected to the Google Home devices directly ända just have Google Home control it vs asking Harmony. Too long og a command. Either way don't buy it for your Google Home or Alexa just yet.
