I had a great deal of difficulty pairing the speaker via Bluetooth with my new Samsung Note 8. The Megaboom Bluetooth pairing kept rejecting my phone. I eventually used NFC to pair my phone with the speaker. Once I paired using NFC a firmware update was required. I had to hold my phone against the speaker for about 5 - 8 minutes so the download could complete. After the update, I was able to connect via Bluetooth as I had done before. A few hours later the app stopped working. The volume could not.be adjusted nor did the power button on the app power off the speaker... This is very problematic.
They updated the software, kept the totally pointless boot animation. 1 star for an otherwise well organized app. Must you have that animation every time I launch the app? I'm already connected to the device, I just want to change the EQ real quick!
Why on Earth as all of the UE speaker apps been renamed? All to "Ultimate Ears". Now the only thing that was getting me to use Bixby has changed (I could literally just press the button, say "Boom" and the app would open instantly). Now even when I say "Open UE MegaBoom" it doesn't know what to do as there isn't an app on the phone that has that name to open. Please name the apps to their respective speaker names. (Might be a petty reason my it has made the app less useful to me)
It would help if the app knew when it was connected rather then asking me to connect it when it already is....... Its annoying because I can't use any app features because it asks me to pair it even tho its connected already
Remote power-on not working, app doesn't properly read the speaker's battery level. Both my MegaBoom's firmware and this app keep getting worse with every update. And don't get me started on the UE customer service...
Pretty good. A little fussy getting multiple speakers to synchronize, otherwise nice and simple while working well. Addition of "use Alexa" spam quite frustrating. And my latest rage: requiring location access to remotely turn off the speakers! It's a bluetooth command, not a GPS signal you Yahoo programmers!
Remote control for Logitech Media Server ("Squeezeserver" etc) and players.
