Content is great. Interface is weak. Specific issues: 1) home grown map interface isn't as good as Google maps (current location isn't displayed even when maps knows location); 2) guide search interface is poor, and worse in low bandwidth settings; 3) ui behaves oddly on tablet. Small suggestion: Call the app Lonely Planet -- "Guide" is a meaningless generic name that doesn't maximize your brand.
It's a great app and I've found educational implications. I'm teaching English to some students who are travelling to India this coming December and the app fits excellently in my lessons. I'll encourage them to get accustomed to using it so that they can take advantage of it while they're actually there! :) Cheers
Seems like a good app, but according to Google play there are in app purchases. I've yet to find any information within the app that isn't freely available? Has it been mislabelled in the play store or is there content somewhere within the app that I'll eventually have to pay for?
What a great app! This app isn't as in-depth as one of their books, but there's still plenty of information. It's especially great for anyone who is visiting the city for a week or two and wants to know what there is to see. You can easily add attractions to your favorites. And the guide is available offline too! They need a few more places in Indonesia though!! Bali especially deserves a guide!
Great app with offline maps. Not only did it help me to find my way round, but it allowed me to discover new places and sights i didn't know before
Pretty Comprehensive App covers everything you need to see do or eat....Just needs to add more tourist spots. 5 * otherwise.
Getting around a new city can be overwhelming. How do I get from the airport to my hotel? What's
the best way to get around town? Is public transit safe and efficient?
