Looked promising, but some shortcomings make it hardly usable. The map layer is very poor (just use OSM or gmaps?), interface glitchy and sometimes unresponsive. Bookmarked places don't stand out on the map in any way, nor do they sync with starred places on google or elsewhere. Lot of work left.
It will not rotate, thereore, I can't use my tablet keyboard. A shame, such a simple oversight by the programmers. Will have to try other travel apps. Sad, I was excited to use it. :(
Pretty good and useful app for travels but it's too bad it crashes all the time, also doesn't keep saved the favorites in the cities guides, need improving so I can keep using (I have an asus zenfone 3 deluxe edition, so probably isn't my phone the problem).
I like this app as a source for things to do further research on. Lots of good ideas for places to visit. Supplements other sources. Haven't had issue with it crashing.
Looks nice lonely planet helpedbalot in Central America years ago for me. The app does notbuse google maps which is a big minus i feel, it doesnt have gps or at least i couldnt find the option. Will try more tomorrow
Using this phone currently as we travel through Belgium. You can download the cities in advance for offline use, pin favourites and it links to your gps do you can find yourself on the map offline. Short descriptions of each place are useful. I would appreciate more in depth history, but it's pretty much comparable to the books so not bad at all.
We have fixed few bugs that were discovered since last update.
We've also reworked our login system to make it simpler & more reliable. We're rolling it out over the next couple of weeks, so you may see it the next time you log in.
We'd love to hear any feedback you have about it at AppSupport@lonelyplanet.com.
