This application is an aid to identify and provide information on management options for most common Wyoming vegetable pests. It is a companion tool to the "Wyoming Vegetable & Fruit Growing Guide" B-1340 November 2021 that provide information plant husbandry.
B-1340 is provided in it entirety in PDF format as it is useful publication for producers. Much of the integrated pest management information (IPM) is taken from the 2024 "Midwest Vegetable Production Guide". This is annually updated publication done by 8 midwestern land grant universities and is available as both an online and hard copy publication at: https://mwveguide.org/.
If the crop and pest combination is not covered in the guide then an appropriate land grant university extension bulletin is provided thanks to Utah State Universsity, Colorado State University, Univ. of California-IPM, Oregon State University, University of Idaho, University of Maryland, and the "Pacific Northwest Insect Management" guide.
This application is not an exhaustive in regards to all the possible pests that may plague your crop. If you can't identify your pest with certainty with the app please contact your local extension office or email: insectid@uwyo.edu for assitance. An unusual pest may be new to our state.
