ScrollGuard uses Device Administration when you turn on "Prevent uninstallation", solely to stop the app from being uninstalled until you disable it in Settings.

Im on day 2 on the pro service. the app seems like its built for Instagram and does not block most if the reels on facebook. it doesn't actually block the reels function on any of the apps, instead it blocks the screen and covers 3/4 of the reel. the audio still plays and the fraction of video you can see continues to play. I had high hopes this app could disable the reels entirely or block the main feed of nonsense from facebook so I could focus on the few uses I keep facebook around for.

Helps me get out of a doomscroll. When I feel like I should get up and leave but feel stuck, right then it pops up with an option to close the app and 2 minutes to pause and decide. Excellent. Also, it puts a popup between me and short form content, which is much appreciated. I always feel fried when I watch shorts or reels or TikTok, and it makes it impossible to get anything done after. So now those things can't steal my attention anymore.

Never realized how much time I spent scrolling until I downloaded this. Wish I had it a long time ago, it keeps me from instantly getting attached to reels as soon as I open the app. Really easy to use, you just install the app and boom - the reels are blocked. It's also pretty cool how the rest of the app is unaffected.
