How to read app 1. Wind hold means 95% of the time the run will be closed for day so take it as closed. 2. Unless app says run opening at 9 am the opening time is probably inaccurate. I use this app to check lift openings if headwall is closed other squaw lifts like kt will be crowded especially on Saturday. Often times I check lifts and headwall closed makes me not ski for the day or go to alpine or sugarbowl. Webcams some work and have up to date pictures some pictures are the same ones a week ago.
Spammy marketing This app will deliver push notification advertising even if you try to disable it by turning it off.
Push notifications forced onto your phone ALL WEEK! Not designed for skiers, but for Squaw's Marketing. Typical of Squaw. This app doesn't do well the things that SKIERS want (like detailed trail maps, timely lift-opening status, & weather). Instead it blasts your phone with marketing push-notifications ALL WEEK-- EVEN IF YOU TURN-OFF PUSH NOTIFICATIONS! I have a Tahoe house and a season pass so I don't want to be blasted with ads for lift tickets, hotel rooms, etc. I just want detailed trail maps and timely lift updates. I get weather from sites w/o a conflict-of-interest.
Speaking as a tech person, this app is not good This app only needs to do a few things well and it does them all terribly. It should give you a great weather report for both real time, short and long-term forecast and it does not do that. The weather is out of date and unbelievably narrow. Also the app should tell you what the lift status is but, this app is hours or sometimes almost a day behind real time. I cannot for the life of me believe they've done that.
Reliably crashes every time I use it Enough said.
Redesign is terrible I used to be able to use app to see weather forecast and detailed snowfall info. All that seems to be gone in the latest versiin, rendering the app practically useless. I'll stick with OnTheSnow from now on.
