Why use a password manager?
Passwords are everywhere. We need them to access our computers, our email accounts and a ton of other services that we rely on. Unfortunately, passwords are a poor way of authentication. Strong passwords are hard to remember and the sheer number of different services makes it practically impossible to keep track of all of your credentials. Most people try to mitigate this by composing their passwords out of familiar things like names or birthdays, but these can be guessed easily and do not provide sufficient protection. Password reuse, which is also wide-spread, is even more dangerous and makes a lot of people easy targets for hackers. Password managers help you keep track of your passwords by providing a secure storage that is protected by a single master password. Good password managers keep your data safe by encrypting it with a strong cipher like AES.
What's so cool about Padlock?
We believe that software should not only be useful but also simple and fun to use. Padlock is all about simplicity and usability. We deliberately left out features that make other password managers unnecessarily complex and potentially confusing. Padlock focuses only on the most essential functionality. No clutter, no distractions. We also put a high value on transparency and actively encourage inspection and contributions by other developers.
Why should I trust you?
You don't have to! Padlock is completely open source and we actively encourage developers to inspect the source code and offer contributions. This not only makes it impossible for us to build in back doors but also helps to identify and eliminate possible security flaws quickly and efficiently.

EDIT: Switching since sync is going paid. Would have rather had ads honestly. Bye. Simple. Easy. All my passwords readily available on all my devices.

Padlock-cloud Is it possible to use my padlock-cloud with the app?

It's still free! What is paid now is the cloud storage service, which is completely optional and can be tested for free with a 30 trial. This is what I need: no complexity on the UI (okay, telling the truth the UI is plain), still the UX is great, it pretty much explains itself. Furthermore the service is great as well with the cloud synch options, I can use multiple devices to access my data and keep it updated, plus it gives me the safety of having a backup (obviously it was in this case that I happened to forget the last password I had to remember). So my evaluation is two thumbs up for Padlock, keep up the good work guys!
Best password app Tried a lot of them, this minimal simple clever manager rules them all, sticking to the basics and doing them well!
Nice app but too simple for me Pros: Database import, cross platform, cloud sync. Cons: no browser integration (login capture, login fill). I will stick with another solution with browser integration.
Simple password management across devices There are more feature filled password managers, but I think the simplicity is the key here. It works on all my OSes (Linux, OSX, Windows, Android). Just what I need. Thanks for adding the lock timeout!
WAS good This app was amazing, but lately it completely stopped saving passwords. You change a known password for example, then go out of the app and open it up again. And then poof, password gone. What a shame. Hopefully it will be fixed soon

Hey Tom, what you were experiencing sounds like a bug that was fixed a while ago. How about you give it another shot now? Minimalistic and intuitive Smooth minimal design that lets you set up your password management without all the usual fuss. Seamless cloud sync. Only issue I have is the lack of a "Lock and Exit" button or similar in the main context menu!
Amazingly powerful yet so simple Lets me create any field names I want so allows me to store my non-tech info as well. Synchs seamlessly across all my devices. My partner has just a few access codes so entered her as a category to share the app. Would b gr8 if the app included fingerprint access for the future. Great work!
Looks great But it doesn't sync with any other device. So that makes it useless for me. Shame

Hi Maryn! Which device would you like to sync it to? Padlock is also available for Windows, Mac and Android even ChromeOS and you can synchronise your data with all these platforms using Padlock Cloud. Let me know if I can help you setting things up! Great but should support finger print Great looking app with a focus on simplicity. This app would really benifit from the use of finger print authentication both on iPhone and Android, a must have feature in my opinion
Good but needs to add option to auto fill passwords This is a promising project . The only thing I miss is the ability to autofill passwords . please add it ASAP
Simple, open source and powerful There's isn't anything to complain so I give 5 stars. It just works beautifully.
Simple and flexible app A simple and flexible little app for syncing passwords and other details you need kept secure. It does need an exit button adding though and the option to use a pass code not password for use on phones with small screens
Outstanding Work ! Best of its class. Compared to many commercial applications everything works like a charm. Furthermore one can define categories. Would be a 6/5 rating if categories could be arranged and sorted even more.
Graceful Exit ??? Am I the only one bothered by the fact that there is no graceful exit? Need to close from the running apps screen.

Hi Frank, this used to be a known issue before it was fixed in the last release! Can you check if the latest version fixes this for you? Awesome Does what it should do without requiring me to login, etc. Great Job!
I not only use Padlock on my Android phone, but also my Chromebook, laptop PC and iPhone. All four devices are kept in sync automatically. Also, the developer responds quickly and professionally to any questions/comments you might have. I can't recommend this application highly enough.
Hunchef Could work well, if i could sync it it with my chromebook.

Hi Viktor, you're in luck! Padlock is also available on ChromeOS and you can easily synchronise your data through Padlock Cloud. Let me know if you need help getting started with Padlock on your Chromebook! 11/10 For sure :D I can't believe it just has 1 thousand downloads, this needs to be more known.. :P
Very clean and easy to use, straightforward UI. Open source code is a huge selling point for something so important.
Nur den einen Benutze es seit Jahren und wird immer besser. Top!
Its the BOMB!! Awesome app, exactly what I needed and so easy to use!!
Works great and developer very responsive App works great on my android devices and it can sync with the chrome plugin on my desktop and laptop. Interface is smooth and slick. Could use some export features so I can back up locally, but otherwise does everything I need.
Good philosophy. Robust app The simple clutter free design makes the app efficient and easy to use. I find it better than numerous paid alternatives and the fact that it's open source is a huge plus.
Seems promising. Works. Not much more to say. Big downside is no desktop apps or even extension for other browsers. I don't use Chrome because it's too resource hungry.
Simply one the best password manager Simply does the job and also love the polymer ui
Great but... Works great with the desktop app but easier setup would help
