So, what is the Happiness Score and why should I care?

The Happiness Score let’s you know how people feel about locations all over the World by applying the formula:

HS = %HAPPY EMOTICONS - %SAD EMOTICONS (HS between -1 and 1)

Each screen showing a part of the World map is divided in 9 same-sized area rectangles.

For each rectangle area shown on the screen, Mappyning will apply the Happiness Score formula and display the resulting emoticon in the center of that area.

When a user marks a location by dragging and releasing an emoticon onto the map, Mappyning never shows the exact location marked. It will always show the result of the Happiness Score calculation for that whole screen area on the map.
If there were no contributions for a given area, then the Happiness Score is not calculated for that area.
