Ratings and reviews

Maps.me WAS my favorite app for travelling for a long time and I recommended it to all my followers/friends. But since it had the paid version, many features were removed from the free version. The UI is now complicated and not userfriendly. Information about the height of a trail is false. It is not anymore usable. I tried Organic Maps and love it as much as maps.me before being ruined. I can even upload marked points from Maps.me. Very sad to say goodbye to Maps.me, but you lost your way.

When I reviewed this originally in 2017 there were no limitations and it was excellent. The 10 map limit seemed to be introduced last year and I managed with that. Now I come to use it again, I had the same experience as reviewer Enzo [23 December]. I can't access the maps I had already downloaded. I deleted a couple but the counter stayed at 10 and it wouldn't let me download any more. Yes, they've ruined it. I can't seem to give no stars so the one star indicates a useless app.

I've been a fan of maps.me, but earlier this year they imposed a limit on the number of maps you could download, and the number of bookmarks you could have without paying for the Pro version. I evidently exceeded both limits already, so couldn't create more bookmarks. THEN, while I was still considering my options, they deleted most of my bookmarks, including those recently created. Most upsetting !! If I can't get these back I will move to a different mapping app. No reply to my support request
