Ratings and reviews

Used to love this app. Especially for hiking and navigation. However, for some time this app has been going downhill in becoming more and more cluttered. Now that they have introduced restrictions on things that used to be free (e.g., the number of maps one is allowed to download), it's time for me to move on to a different app. Organic Maps, which is a fork of the original MAPS.ME before it started to clutter and monetize everything, is a much better app. It's also completely free!

Gave it a second try after many months. Old bugs are still there. In addition, tried to use it as a navigation tool. It's sooo bad. The map freezes, while the meter zone is active and shows the right distance. The route is white color, extremely hard to distinguish from the street. Doesn't know public transport in The Netherlands. Annoying compass thingy that is not possible to disable.

I don't know what happened?! This was my favourite travelling app for hiking and cycling and navigation around towns. Now I lost all my bookmarks and nothing works anymore as it should. Downloading maps is suddenly very difficult. I spent an hour or so adding new bookmarks, but they disappeared as well? I'll have to start looking for a new app :(
