So much potential to change the world, but not quite there. The bardcode scanner is badly implemented and an addition of "alternatives to" would be great. It just didnt work for me. It needs to be implemented like the other barcode scanners out there. Imagine you are out shopping and scan a can of deodorant, people would much rather be given a choice of the "next best deodorant" that doesnt test in animals. Scanning all deodorants can easily take up your whole day right? It could be made into a community driven system, with thumbs up and down on each product suggestion to make it more accurate.
Good App but some questions... So this app is great! I have been vegetarian all my life and only just discovered this app. However there are many companies in the UK I buy from that are not there. Also, when I try to type in the barcode, sometimes it says 'barcode has to be between 11-13 numbers' (or something like that). Why is this? It even happens with some brands that are in the US. Is PETA a US company? Last thing; how do you work the scanner? Do you have to press a button or does it automatically scan it. Thanks!
Good app some kinks!! Great if products are well know and mainly produced in america but english big brands don't fair so good. Most english based brands arn't recognisable even when i type them in search. Even typing in the manufactures dosn't help. Would love if they could expand their product knowledge
I Love It. Its so easy to use right in the store aisles. This app cuts out the endless researching done to buy cruelty free. Plus there are no horrible pictures to remind me of why it should be illegal. We know why
So far I'm disappointed, I looked up my favorite lipstick brand, Rimmel, no result. That's a pretty well known brand, why is it missing? I can't trust this app, it claims Organix test on animals but organics claims they do not and never have directly or indirectly. I don't have time to look up all the other companies that are wrong. It's easier just to Google each company when I am in a store.
Not 100% accurate I use this app but also double check with google. I find that sometimes brands are listed as testing on animals when they've actually become cruelty free. Also there's been a couple popular brands that I've found aren't even listed on the app.
