Come one, come all - relive the joys of the classic game, Dots and Boxes!
This is my first Android game and one which I hope will end all wars and bring peace on earth. There are no fancy graphics here or soothing music scores as I concentrated on the gameplay and the core Android implementation [while dabbling in some unnecessary features also - see below].
My main goal for this game was to create an A.I. system to which humanoids can attempt to stop the robot revolution and to hinder the demise of the human species. There are three flavours of the A.I. The main engine, and our future leader, the NeVeX Engine, the supreme system of intelligence that will destroy those who challenge it! For those too scared to wake the destruction of NeVeX, fickle humans can play it's slower CPU relation, Viper. But for most players, they might need to feel accomplishments, hence, they may challenge the unevolved engine Eejit and gain some futile rejoice by beating it (candy from a baby much?)!
Enough of the yapping, here the game supports the following functions and adventures through time:
- Play against yourself (or three versions of yourself)
- Play against your friends (or three of them) - added feeling of togetherness as you all share the same screen
- Play against various game engines I came up with (yes, completely 100% original A.I.)
---- NeVeX - My best A.I. implementation, aka, Kit's forgotten child
---- Viper - The slower uncle in law of NeVeX above
---- Eejit - The cousin of NeVeX that it awkwardly visit every Xmas
- I like big board sizes (and I cannot lie...)
---- Any amount of rows from 4 -> 20
---- Any amount of columns from 4 -> 20
- A settings menu, a freakin' settings menu!
---- Animation mode - animate those bad boy circles, if you want.....
---- Seizure mode - for those boring days when your Aunt needs something from the shop and you are stuck in the checkout line
---- Debug mode - because some people like to watch the world burn
---- A.I. Delay - Set how much minimum time you wish the A.I. to destroy humanity
- Zoom! Zoom! Zoom!
---- Use the on screen zoom - make it bigger baby!
---- Pinch to Zoom, don't need to pinch yourself, it's real and not a dream
- Undo move - we all make mistakes, reverse your stupid mistakes human
- Colors - so many colors
---- Yellow color is the current move made - keep track human
---- Colors match the user text at the top of the screen
So there you go, the power to unleash is an install away!
A special shout out to Longford Mick for his help with the Chain Hunter Algorithm! Cheers MIck!
In closing, this is my first game, so if one person enjoys/downloads it in any regard, I'd be so happy.
Let me know if there's something horribly wrong with the game or if there's something you think I can improve on, it will be much appreciated.
